No I believe my main point was to stop people from offering huge amounts of money just to out bid another person then never have to honor the contract. like I said I could offer somone 111.5 mil just to get them off the free agent market and only be responsible for 11.5 mil of it and just reneg it down and everyone on gods green earth would know the only reason i offered 111.5 was just to screw someone else out of getting the guy. putting the rule into place would prevent over bidding and never paying. Would force owners to pay the buying price on their free agents and yes it has been the opinion that it would HELP the free agent market a LITTLE bit.

Like I said in the other thread, that guy would likely reject your offer anyway if a higher bonus came along.

I want owners to have to pay the contracts they offer to players that they put out there to outbid other people. Not have a way to weasel out of it later on at a much reduced price.

If you are going to offer x amount of dollars over x amount of years to outbid another owners why shouldnt you have to pay that amount of money you offered to outbid another owner?

OK but like I said... Show me where that can not be worked around... Ok so you limit to last year negotiations. If we implement that, then you can not trade or cut the player either.

9 Million Bonus
2 Million year 1 + 3 Mil Bonus
2 Million year 2 + 3 Mil Bonus
2 Million year 3 + 3 Mil Bonus

If I renegotiate after year 1 and bonus I give I am going to have to add on top of the 3 Mil each year I have to give him..

If I trade/cut him I free myself of everything but his bonus...

So either way I am not paying him what I agreed to...

HA it will all get lost that I actually have a good point and alot of owners agree with me and other leagues have put this rule in place agree with me aswell it will all be lost these facts because people have disposistions already to dislike me because I actually question flaws in the league and try to fix them so everyone can have a better expirence. I hate how some people here I wont even name names but they make it like everything I bring up is specificly to help my team. What a joke.

you have to learn to stop posting after you've made your point. if you start the thread - state your case. when enough people have responded you can explain yourself further in another post or two. you don't have to beat people over the head with your side cuz that only make people dig their heels in. the best way to do something will prevail, you don't need to help move things along with constant replies. enthusiasm is good though, some people don't even give a crap and you never hear from them.

Because like I pointed out in my NFL Oakland Raiders post, why should you FORCE an owner to pay the maximum life of the contract when restructuring contracts happens every day in real life. Instead of complaining about the situation and trying to force across the board changes just make sure YOUR the one who outbids everyone for the free agent.

Javon Walker restructured his contract which will save the Oakland Raiders a reported $22 million off his base salaries through 2013.

So while you don't like it, it's done. Instituting an across the board rule is unrealistic and will simply serve to frustrate owners who are against the cap and need to restructure to free up room to sign other players.

i don't care one way or the other, i'm here for fun. i just think it's rather telling that jester would consider quitting the league if, dare we say it - it became more competitive! dun dun DUNNN. you mean if we made it harder to keep guys he aquired he wouldn't want to participate.

jester wasn't so hot when his team started off 0-8. that only happened two seasons ago i think. where was all his expert advice then and why wasn't he following it? i haven't ever started off 0-8. it was so bad i thought he was tanking cuz you gotta try hard to lose 8 games in a row.
