I think what he is saying is that there are certain gameplans that don't trigger the code in the game that makes the defense adjust to the gameplan. So the defense keeps playing the same inadequate gameplan.

jim tweaked the code for defense so that you can't keep blitzing the same player on every down. Chubby was able to get one LB 24 sacks.

and thanks to chubby jim also fixed the renogotiations loophole so that a guy won't think he's getting a great deal if you offer him this:

Year 1: 1million dollars
Year 2: 1.2 million dollars
Year 3: 1.8 million dollars
Year 4: 8 million dollars

Chubby was one of the first to offer ridiculously backloaded contracts. He did it in the USFL and IHOF. The only thing that I can remember that is stat-related is that he blitzed a ton with one LB and the guy ended up with around 25 sacks. I don't think the latter was such a horrible thing on his part, though Jim ended up tuning down the amount of damage an individual LB can do.

The funniest thing I can remember that an IHOF member did is when Alf signed like 120 players to his team prior to training camp. That was the cause of the 70-player rule which is now in many leagues.

We're laughing at these things, but this is one of the reason it's good that Jim is in IHOF and experiencing the events first hand rather than seeing a bug report.

What are some of your thoughts that have more to go on than the stat of 24/25 sacks on whether or not that was a knee-jerk reaction to turn down LB sacks?

While I'm a fan of DLinemen, I'll be the first to point out that 14 out of the top 15 sack leaders in the IFL being DLinemen is clearly not consistent with the NFL. Also, 24/25 sacks is not unreasonable since the record is around 22.

Yeah, LB's don't rack up sacks like they should in 2004. I believe the numbers are much better in 2007.

im simply not impressed with 2004 or 2007 at this point. i think jim is a moron and is either football retarded or a crappy program drafter. I know the penalty bug is being fixed in 2007 and maybe that will help the silly ass AI.

maybe we'll just take a little break after this season anyways, so some guys can chill the fuck out. not sure when it started exactly, but i don't recall things being so negative around here. did jim sleep with some of your wives or what?

NEWSFLASH - The game has some god damn shortcomings. Still, it's the best fricking football simulation out there. That's all that matters. How do you think your opponents feel when all you can talk about is how shitty the game is? Take it like a man, if that's what you are.
