2. Your reasoning. It really sucked. Your reasoning was that because you have no life, job, or woman. .. that you should have first crack at any available player. . . ugggghhhh .. I have a life, but I also want to sompete. Some people have a life, or even a job that they covet and prevents them from surfing the boards 24/7. Should you get an advantage over them? No. because this is a game. A game is supposed to be fun. And any game isn't fun when another player has/had an unfair advantage. Even if the advantage seems legitimate to the "other" player. I believe you are wonrg with only that.

lol...not complaining about injuries...they are part of the game even if they stink when they happen. I think that first year i mustve set a record...by week 6 or so i was down to the 4th QB that i had to add from the FA pool just to have a starter...it was downright grim...

for the record...that was one of those seasons that KAO sucked...i think he is the cause for all 3 guys being practically killed with season ending injuries...dude couldnt block to save his life... :lol:

t;]i'm a MP veteran. you know how many times i've inquired about someone huge and the GM said "i wasn't thinking about moving him but you'd have to blow me away with an offer for me to consider". i have no problem blowing you away with an offer - i can't aquire a guy who isn't available. first step is seeing if the guy can be had. even if it's a high price. i'll determine if i'm prepared to pay the price.

hi, i'm Jester. yes, i want your stud DE, and no, i don't want to give up anything more than a 4th round pick for him. i expect you to give me one of the top 3 guys in his position, and i will give you mid round draft picks, even though it's known around the league that you don't value draft picks and it's evident by looking at the amount of picks you have in the next 3 years (ie, hardly any). still, i want that guy, so just give him to me for nothing, ok?

For a couple of seasons of a stud DE that's cap friendly I'd say a 2nd-3rd would be fair FYI.

1) You came to me.
2) I never mentioned a 4th round pick or ANY offer as it was apparent that you were wasting my time. I asked to be added to your list of GMs you don't bother with trade requests.
3) Being a "top 3" guy for a couple of seasons doesn't match up to a career, which is what a 1st through 3rd round draft pick should be netting.
4) One look at your roster and you see an old team going nowhere. I figured (since you let the conversation continue after my initial response stating clearly that DRAFT PICKS were what, if anything, I intended to move) that you smartened up and realized you needed to get a few draft picks back.
5) You can color Otey's contract "reasonable" all you want but it doesn't stick. His contract request is HUGE!!! I'm not looking to pay you for the priveledge of cap problems.

If you only have a guy for 30% of his career then no matter how great he is for those couple of seasons (which probably won't be very great at all due to lack of cohesion) it still only amounts to 30% of a career.

don't worry, you clearly know less than you think about this game so for me to deal with you would be a waste of my time. you know nothing about this game. nothing. how much of an impact do you really think cohesion plays in the grand scheme of things? i'm willing to wager it has no more than a 10%, *maybe* 15% affect on the outcome of a game. what you're saying is "i rather keep my good young DE and not trade for your stud veteran DE cuz it'll ruin my cohesion". if your young, 50ish rated DE could equal the output of my high 70ish Joe Otey then don't you think your average DE would be rated higher? you have no DE that currently is rated as high as Otey.

the point of this game is to win a championship. if you want to play "collect young players and keep them for a long time so the cohesion increases" then you play that game and if you somehow are able to get to the Imperial Bowl again you'll lose it a second time because of inferior talent. the Patriots went to the AFC Championship game last year. you think they stuck with their young corps of average receivers or did they go out and get an impact player (Moss)? you're either one player away from winning it all the 2nd time around or you're content to let other teams get better.

Otey is a 9 year vet. he's got a good 4, even 5, years in him. considering SLC has picked up the tab on his signing bonus from this point on any team can aquire him and resign him to a new deal. you think i'm gonna pay him $9million this season if i keep him? if you do then you need to cut back on that herb you're smoking.
