His ratings were never that hot. 3rd down running? Whoopie. No eluseivness? No deal. Speed to the outside doesn't help worth jack if everything else is average or worse.
If I could do it all again I wouldn't have drafted him. I mainly picked him because of his receiving skills. I might have to look back and see who I passed over at the RB position."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

Damn Biggs... always arguing with me.
I'll clarify...
Shutz had great speed to the outside as well as endurance. That to me spells everydown back who'll occasionally break some for good yardage while giving up the more-consistently-as-you'd-like tackle for loss. Wasn't the case with Shutz. From what I understand it's common knowledge that "endurance" wasn't factored into the calculations enough in FOF 2004 and I've read threads at FOFC (after aquiring SHutz of course) stating that the same is thought for "speed to the outside".

Breakaway speed is what helps runners go for big gains I think. No elusiveness and hardly any breakaway speed = no long runs. And in over 1000 attempts he hasn't had a run for more than 33 yards. I'm not sure what his ratings were, but his ratings right now suggest an average running back and a good receiving back. And that's what the stats look like as well.Los Angeles Matadors AC West Champs: 2037

I can't argue your points on elusiveness or breakaway speed.
In my defense I can tell you my logic at the time:
"This guy's fast to the outside but has no breakaway speed. OK, I guess in Jim's world the wind or some other force causes football players to have a different speed based on the direction they're facing. Fine then. I'll run this guy to the outside all day and his endurance will pay off in the 4th quarter of games."
Of course IFL history colored me "foolish" in my thoughts.

Fun fact: Drafted 29th in the 50th round of the initial draft, QB Billy Del Greco is the last non K/P drafted that is still in the league. Del Greco is perhaps best known for going something like 0-315 as the starting QB for West Virginia from 2007-2008.Los Angeles Matadors AC West Champs: 2037

that dude played like a girl considering his attributes and his value to a franchise....gave up too many sacks and never got the KRBs....Originally posted by MattStill with the sour grapes :mrgreen:Originally posted by dberner30Kao sucks. I hated that guy. Hope he dies. (I assume this is LT Kao) the whiny punk.Originally posted by JesterBlazeThe main point is that you should get a much value as you can and get the word out when there's a star player on the block.
For those of you who somehow think your trades don't effect the rest of the league how would you like to go to work one day and come home to find that your division rival just got:
Caro
Crespo
Kao
that DE over in CAL
Kley
McKenzie
I think you'd smarten up real quick and realize this is a 32 team league and the comings and goings of one team most assuredly effect the others.GM Wichita Outlaws

HOLY SHIT! IS DB STICKING UP FOR ME? OMG!!!!!Originally posted by dberner30sweet....pig farmer getting dogged...great day...and montreal to boot....
For the record, if a team is still maintaining players from the allocation draft you need to consider whether the owner is the one who drafted. For example, I drafted my team and if they are still here its because I aquired them as young players and kept them. For example, I drafted to win early and then lost multiple QBs to injuries in years 1 and 2 and then started fighting the age and cap from that point forward...
Oakland on the other hand had the famous 3 year (oops) plan where he drafted all young guys to win later...so only dog the non-original owner about keeping those guys...I think the pig farmer was here then...if not "pretty darn close to it.
first off, db, you suck!!!!
second, even though I hate to admit it, you are right. I drafted for the long run. And I think that 4 out of 7 is a pretty good run. And I don't see another team in our division catching me this year. With luck concerning injuries, and a better understanding of 2k7s gameplanning, I think I am a serious contender.
HA,
Sorry about that. I was drunk. I usually don't attack the person only the idea. The idea you had, which were actually two ideas, almost 3 are:
1. It's ok to "snipe" a trade. Yup. It is ok. If I saw a player that I coveted, and had the opportunity to snag before other offers came in. .. hell yeah! I would have pulled the trigger.
2. Your reasoning. It really sucked. Your reasoning was that because you have no life, job, or woman. .. that you should have first crack at any available player. . . ugggghhhh .. I have a life, but I also want to sompete. Some people have a life, or even a job that they covet and prevents them from surfing the boards 24/7. Should you get an advantage over them? No. because this is a game. A game is supposed to be fun. And any game isn't fun when another player has/had an unfair advantage. Even if the advantage seems legitimate to the "other" player. I believe you are wonrg with only that.
3ish. Your idea that you are the greatest GM in the world. Prove it. You inherited a team in the middle of rebuilding by what most in this league, would consider, a damn good GM. (Jeff you suck if you are getting a big head). You say I have done nothing? Well, I think that 45 out of 7 division titles is something. I havn't gotten ove rthe gameplanning hump yet. But my draft for the futre plan is keeping me in the playoffs. How many times have you been in the playoffs? You havn't proven that your "daniel snyder" approach is better than my "draft for the future" approach, or Suicane's "I'lll make everyone think I'm crazy, therefore, they won't plan for me" approach.2005 AC North Division Champions

Great point. Johnny Mitchell, 1st round TE drafted by the Jets in 1992, had a body designed to play football in.
Here is his "career" stats

Johnny Mitchell is not in the all-time top 50 in any major category.
