The main point is that you should get a much value as you can and get the word out when there's a star player on the block.

For those of you who somehow think your trades don't effect the rest of the league how would you like to go to work one day and come home to find that your division rival just got:

2. Others are right about a league competitive balance issue

3. It isnt realistic that 2 good players get traded w/o the entire IFL knowing about it and having a chance to express interest. its not realistic to think a 4 hour window is cool.

I don't care so much when GM's have a quick trigger.

One side is usually getting ripped off and the other side is getting a steal. I'm only upset when...

a) I'm the guy getting ripped (so I stopped making quick trades)
b) I'm not the guy getting the steal
c) Someone in my division gets a steal

I'm very happy when someone in my division gets robbed in a trade though.

If it's a quick trade that actually works out for both sides, well fuck em both and good luck with your new players. It does suck for those who were not on the forum during the entire time the trade went down, but such is life.

Maybe there should be a 'Trade Needs' section where you post your positional needs and what you're willing to give for them, and let those with the quick trigger fingers come to you. Or you can post it in the trade block section, either works fine.

Like, i'm looking for a guard and a WR. I'm willing to give up draft picks, players and probably even my first born. I may even be willing to give or receive a dirty sanchez depending on how good they are.

what have you accomplished in this league? you have the same amount of championships as i do, so that means your crap isn't working. i have a better team than you at this point. i don't have Montreal in my division to pad my stats. and for someone who has the world-class roster you have that was a great game week 5, huh? and you lost to the Seals, a team i beat and ended their winning streak. looks like you aren't as mighty as you think you are. watch out, it's a pretty long drop from that high horse you're sitting on.

what moves do you make? what player can you say you've traded for in the last 2 seasons has made a big impact? i bet if i were to look at your team i'd see most of the main guys you have were people who drafted in 2003.

you can make bs comments all you want, while you're sleeping i'm scheming and putting a team together. if we were to list the guys we've aquired via trade since the time i've been in IFL you'd look like an intern compared to my GMing skillz. let's do it now:

For the record, if a team is still maintaining players from the allocation draft you need to consider whether the owner is the one who drafted. For example, I drafted my team and if they are still here its because I aquired them as young players and kept them. For example, I drafted to win early and then lost multiple QBs to injuries in years 1 and 2 and then started fighting the age and cap from that point forward...

Oakland on the other hand had the famous 3 year (oops) plan where he drafted all young guys to win later...so only dog the non-original owner about keeping those guys...I think the pig farmer was here then...if not pretty darn close to it.

I once was the GM of Portland. I traded a shitty RB named Schulz (at least I thought he was, how did he end out his career?) to Jeff's team for the 1.14 pick. I then turned that 1.14 pick into 1.3 and drafted Caro. Then Jeff ends up taking over Portland. Makes you wonder. :P

Well, I would never have gotten 1.3 without 1.14. I don't think I had a first rounder of my own that year.

Also, if memory serves me correctly, Jeff had 1.1 or 1.2 and passed on Caro.
