at no point since i've been here have you ever had anything to do with the studs on your team. as far as i can see you've been handed the stars by being opportunistic by replacing one good team for one in a better position.

if you leave the team i think the league should vote which available team you should be allowed to take over. to be honest that wouldn't be such a bad idea at all - to have the league vote who gets what team. the way you did it was very shady and behind the scenes.

While behind the scenes, I don't think there was anything shady about the transition. If I remember correctly it was done so that Jave's return to Oakland could be somewhat of a surprise.

Nonetheless, while I share your urge to see Jeff with a team long-term, for the betterment of the league long-time (and preferably skilled) GMs should get the best available teams only for fear of what a knucklehead could do to a great franchise in a short time.

A great franchise is the culmination of a great many moves and shouldn't be sabotaged from the inside.

i didn't mean shady with such a negative connotation. i mean, he took over the team that was available. i just think it's funny he's crying about my trade when the Seals weren't even on the block, it was more like at 8:00 spunky resigns and at 8:01 jeff posts jave is back in the league and oh, by the way, jeff himself will be taking over Portland (who happens to have the best player in the game). i would have loved to have walked into the league and landed Portland. instead i got stuck with the crap that is the Fresno Chaos and i can't even move the team to NY cuz they're handcuffed to their stadium. i love this league just little things like that left a bad taste in my mouth, much like the taste one gets from licking suicane's nipples.

no one feels as bad as i do - i wanted to quote that little section up there after writing a 3 paragraph post and i hit "edit" instead of "quote". this is the 2nd time its happened to me. i didn't feel like retyping everything.

ok - i'm done with this. i think this got so much press cuz it's not only the 1st trade of the season, it's the only trade of the season and the only blockbuster of the season. the media needs things to talk about and everyone jumped on this.

i'm moving on. i have a team to build and unfortunately i don't have the luxury of leaving the Heroes for an even better team.

That's very surprising! I'd much rather take over the worst team in a league at anytime I join to avoid getting the lack-o-respect jeff's getting right now and would figure since you're so into GMing over gameplanning that you'd feel the same.

If you like trades and whatnot as much as it seems you do wouldn't you get bored real quick taking over a good team?

late November/early December - it's decided that Jave will return to the league
Dec 11th - P. Luxx (Vancouver GM) lets Suicane know he won't be back. With an opening, I inform Jave that he will be given Portland. I plan to take over Vancouver.
Dec 18th - spunky drops out. I decide I would rather take over Portland

I made the announcements as soon as the check-in was closed. That's when openings are made "official".

It's as simple as that. I don't know what you would have rather happened. If there is more than one opening, I give a GM the option of what team they'd rather like. Kozure picked WestVa over Texas. sjshaw wanted westva as well, but was brought aboard a bit later. Would it surprise you that I gave myself first dibs?

Again, the only thing I thing I'm really shaking my head at is posting a guy on the block, saying you are trying to get feelers, then going and trading the guy just a small number of hours later. That's not getting a feel for the situation at all.

Well I actually got all the feeling I needed. I got what I wanted. He offered one thing, I countered, he accepted. I just chose to be a nice guy and not tell him to wait another 24 hours so I could look for a better offer.

Upon further consideration I think the only nipples that actually taste good are strippers. Took a lot of thought on that one.
