Mogul has always been a shit ton funner for me to play than OOTP. Not saying it's a better game......well yeah, to me it's a better game.

I can pick it up and play it, use some minor house rules or no house rules if im feeling giddy and just play a fun baseball sim.

OOTP Makes me wanna rip my dick off and beat the computer with it.
      I luv British womenz.

I found your report INFINITELY more stimulating than Baseball itself, which I find to the the absolute DULLEST waste of a person's time that has ever existed ever ever ever.

            Alex Gonzalez (SS)
            Shawn Green (RF)

Both Green and Gonzalez have over 90 potential so this is a real good deal for me even though I did give up some very solid middling prospects.
I remember those days. Gonzalez was our saviour at SS after Eddy Zoscky didn't work out.

              APRIL 26TH: Marlins (9-12) At Phillies (10-11)

Man, what a bummer of a loss. We played well and Wegman was good but we gave up a 7th inning run to tie it and then Jeff Manto of all people hit a walkoff HR in the bottom of the 9th off of Candaleria. Booo!!

Final Score: Phillies 4 Marlins 3

              APRIL 27TH: Marlins (9-13) At Phillies (11-11)

Wohooo!! What a confidence building game. An epic extra innings win on the road where our bullpen threw 9 shutout innings.
Goodwin went 1-8 but that's ok, we won a tight game on the road that would of been a real nut punch to lose.

Final Score: Marlins 5 Phillies 3 (15 Innings)

              APRIL 28TH: Marlins (10-13) At Phillies (11-12)

A really hard luck loss as with our bullpen tired we tried to push Saunders too hard and he gave up 2 runs in the 7th after throwing 120+ pitches and they eeked by us. A tough one to lose for sure.

Final Score: Phillies 3 Marlins 2

              APRIL 29TH: Marlins (10-14) At Reds (17-8)

Hell of a win as we jumped out early on the NL West leaders thanks to back to back homers from Gaetti & Carreon but Heaton surrendered our lead. We came back to go ahead in the 7th and Gossage closed it out in the 9th vs the top of their order. Real nice.

Final Score: Marlins 6 Reds 5

              APRIL 29TH: INJURY NEWS

Frank Tanana twisted his ankle and is unavailable. Wegman will work on four days rest tommorow. Also, Mark Lemke has a bruised heel and will be unavailable for the next couple of days so we're playing with a short bench as well.

              APRIL 30TH: Marlins (11-14) At Reds (17-9)

Wohoooo! Another really nice win. Wegman was brilliant going 8 innings. Goodwin manufactured a run in the top of the 9th with a steal of 3rd and Gossage got another save. Dave Berg also smashed a homer. Two really sweet wins.

Final Score: Marlins 3 Reds 2

              APRIL 30TH: INURY NEWS

Bryn Smiths hamstring is tweaked and instead of moving everyone up a day in the rotation we call up Chuck Smith to start tommorow in Cincy. Smith however still wont be able to start for another 2 days though so Heaton & Saunders will still likely have to move up a day.

              MAY 1ST: Marlins (12-14) At Reds (17-10)

Wow, another impressive win. Chuck Smith threw 6 solid innings but we trailed when he left the game. That changed with a 6 run 7th inning that included a 2 run single by Jason Hufford and a homer from Carreon. Our bullpen threw 3 good innings and we rolled to our 3rd straight win in Cincy. A sweep tommorow would be awesome.

Final Score: Marlins 8 Reds 4

              MAY 1ST: ROSTER NEWS

Wanting to keep our rotation in order we signed free agent SP Darryl Hearnen who's been pitching in the Frontier League. He'll start for us tommorow. Chuck Smith was sent back down to AA with a pat on the back.

              MAY 2ND: Marlins (13-14) At Reds (17-11)

Hearnen pitched well, giving up 4 runs over 6 innings but Jose Rijo kept us at bay and helped the Reds avoid the sweep and halted our win streak. Still, I can't help but be impressed with how we played against one of the National Leagues premiere teams.

Final Score: Reds 6 Marlins 3
              I luv British womenz.

                MAY 3RD: Marlins (13-15) Vs Pirates (12-16)
One more time we pull out a close one. Smith went 7 innings, Mason pitched the last 1.1 Innings to earn the save. Larkin smashed a 467 foot 2 run HR. Just another solid win. Let's get to .500 tommorow.
Final Score: Marlins 3 Pirates 2

                MAY 4TH: Marlins (14-15) Vs Pirates (12-17)
Just a brilliant day. Saunders threw a complete game, 3 hit shutout and Carreon blasted a 2 run homer as we rolled again and reached .500. Tommorow we go for the sweep!
Final Score: Marlins 4 Pirates 0

                MAY 5TH: Marlins (15-15) Vs Pirates (12-18)
We pounded out 17 hits, Heaton went 7 strong and we rolled to an easy win and a sweep of the Pirates and a plus .500 record. Go Go Marlin Power!!!
Final Score: Marlins 7 Pirates 3

                MAY 6TH: ROSTER MOVES
Both Dave Hollins and Dennis Cook are ready to come off the DL today. I decide to send down Bill Landrum to AAA even though he's been awesome for us with a 3.00 ERA. Problem is our entire pen has been really good and I wanna keep Heredia up because of ability to go 3+ innings if called upon.

Hollins' activation sends Dave Berg back down to A Ball. With Carreon hitting so well it's gonna be a sort of 3 way platoon at 1st base with Larkin, Carreon and Hollins. Hollins will also see some starts here and there at 3rd base.

                MAY 6TH: Marlins (16-15) At Phillies (14-16)
Tough loss as our bats were pretty silent and our bullpen gave up a few runs.
Final Score: Phillies 5 Marlins 3

                MAY 7TH: Marlins (16-16) At Phillies (15-16)
Hell of a battle that we come out on the winning side of. An extra inning road win is a wonderfull thing. Our bullpen was awesome again today.
Final Score: Marlins 3 Phillies 2 (12 Innings)

MAY 7TH: INJURY & ROSTER MOVES
Bill Landrum wasn't happy with his demotion. Word on the street is that he punched a wall and broke his finger, landing him on the 15 day DL.

                Trade
We've been looking into moving Mike Deveraux and his $1.8M salary for awhile now and today we finaly struck a deal to move him. We send him and middling prospect LF Nigel Wilson to Kansas City in return for a couple of veterans. 2B Terry Shumpert will join us. He can play all over and is a real bench upgrade. Also coming in is veteran Catcher Nelson Santovenia who gives us a 3rd Catcher.

To make room we are sending down 3B Jason Hufford.
                I luv British womenz.

                  MAY 8TH: Marlins (17-16) At Phillies (15-17)
We pounded out 17 hits, 4 from Goodwin. Smith threw a complete game gem and we rolled to an easy victory to move to 2 games over .500.
Final Score: Marlins 8 Phillies 3 (12 Innings)

                  MAY 9TH: OFF DAY

MAY 9TH: ROSTER MOVES & LINEUP NEWS
The Devereaux trade left us with only 1 extra outfielder so I wanna try and strengthen our bench a little bit more.
We sign veteran Outfielder Chris Gwynn to a 1 year deal worth $140K. To make room for him we send SS Pat Bushby down to AAA.

This gives us 2 Catchers, 2 Infielders and 2 Outfielders on our bench.

Also, i've been messing around with the lineup alot and I want that to stop so i'm going with these lineups for the foreseable future.

                  Code:
RIGHT HANDED LINEUP LEFT HANDED LINEUP
                  1. RF Willie McGee 1. RF Willie McGee
                  2. SS Ozzie Guillen 2. 2B Terry Shumpert
                  3. CF Tom Goodwin 3. LF Mark Carreon
                  4. 1B Mark Carreon 4. 3B Dave Hollins
                  5. LF Jim Eisnerich 5. 1B Gene Larkin
                  6. 3B Gary Gaetti 6. CF Tom Goodwin
                  7. C Mike LaValliere 7. SS Ozzie Guillen
                  8. 2B Mark Lemke 8. C Geno Petrali
I'll work Hollins and Larkin into the righty lineup as much as I can but I don't wanna keep messing around with things.

                  MAY 10TH: Marlins (18-16) Vs Mets (25-9)
We fought valiantly right to end but Saunders scuffled thru 5 innings and Sid Fernandez pretty much shut us down.
Final Score: Mets 3 Marlins 2

                  MAY 11TH: Marlins (18-17) Vs Mets (26-9)
We we're pretty game until they ravaged our bullpen late. Gossage in particular was awfull in this non save situation. Well the Mets are the cream of the crop, and they creamed us today. Oooofah!
Final Score: Mets 12 Marlins 5

                  MAY 12TH: Marlins (18-18) Vs Mets (27-9)
A real tough loss as our bullpen pitched really well until the 10th when we gave up the go ahead run and finished off being swpet.
Final Score: Mets 3 Marlins 2 (10 Innings)

                    MAY 13TH: Marlins (18-19) Vs Pirates (16-21)
A very dissapointing start to the series as Smith gave up 6 runs in 6 innings and Denny Neagle pretty much held us down all game. A late rally fell short and we lost our 4th in a row. Booo!
Final Score: Pirates 7 Marlins 5

                    MAY 14TH: Marlins (18-20) Vs Pirates (17-21)
Saunders got rocked for 5 in the first and though he settled down we never made it much of a ballgame. Losing some steam here which is a bit scary, don't need things to fall apart.
Final Score: Pirates 5 Marlins 2

                    MAY 15TH: LINEUP NOTE
Willie McGee has really been struggling so we're gonna give Goodwin the reigns as leadoff hitter for awhile. Also, we're gonna move Terry Shumpert into the starting lineup at 2B and put him in the 2 hole followed by Eisenreich, Gaetti & Carreon. McGee will drop to 6th.

                    MAY 15TH: Marlins (18-21) Vs Pirates (18-21)
Very nice win today as we put up 3 in the first and Heaton pitched very well with the lead. Bullpen closed out the final 2 innings and we got back in the win column. Really wanna close the homestand out with a win tommorow.
Final Score: Marlins 4 Pirates 1

                    MAY 16TH: Marlins (19-21) Vs Pirates (18-22)
Man oh man. Tanana scuffled thru 7 innings but kept us in the game. Then with 2 out and the bases juiced in the bottom of the 8th, Dave Hollins came off the bench and belted a monster shot to put us up 1. Gossage closed out the game for the 2nd straight day and we picked up our 2nd straight win. Niceness.
Final Score: Marlins 7 Pirates 4

                      MAY 17TH: INJURY NEWS
Bill Wegman has a strained neck that will keep out a couple of days so the plan is to call up Chuck Smith and have him start in Wegmans spot today.

                      MAY 17TH: Marlins (20-21) At Cardinals (20-21)
Impressive win as Chuck Smith goes 6 strong, our bullpen is rock solid again including the 3rd straight save from Gossage. Eisenreich homered and we are now back to .500. Bueno!
Final Score: Marlins 5 Cardinals 2

                      MAY 18TH: Marlins (21-21) At Cardinals (20-22)
Welp, good and bad in this one as Bryn Smith gave up 8 runs in 5 innings and we lost the game but Shumpert belted 2 HR's. It was a slugfest and we won't win many of those but it was some fun.
Final Score: Cardinals 9 Marlins 6

                      MAY 19TH: Marlins (21-22) At Cardinals (21-22)
Saunders struggled thru 6 innings of work. He got in ton of jams but allowed only 1 run. Our bullpen was awesome and Gossage closed em out in the 9th for a stupendous victory.
Final Score: Marlins 2 Cardinals 1

You can see that Goodwin, Eisenreich and Carreon have been our rocks so far and over the last 20 games Gaetti has sort of leveled up and produced for us. McGee has really slumped though. As i've stated, we have to win our games with old school baseball because our power is limited at best and the addition of Shumpert really helps us as we can start 4 or 5 guys a night who can fly pretty well.

Tanana and Saunders, our old guy and our young guy have been the rocks of the rotation. Smith & Wegman have given us innings but he's taken some knocks. Our bullpen has just been effin fantasic though, we'd be knee deep in poo without them, those of fuggers have really taken to Miami.

I'm really looking forward to the next stretch of game, my goal now is to try and go .500 with these guys as I think that is an attainable goal.

                          44 GAME LEAGUE STATUS REPORT

                          TRADES
There have been a couple of trades in the majors since the season started, the biggest of which was between the Cubs and Pirates. The Cubs sent veteran 2B Ryne Sandberg to Pittsburh in exchange for young SS Jay Bell. The Cubs also sent SS Shaun Dunston to San Diego in exchange for prospects Jason Thompson & Jerald Clark as well as veteran 2B Tim Teufel. The Cubbies are clearly looking to sell off some veterans and get younger.

The Brewers dealt Tom Brunansky & Steve Sparks along with 2 other players to the Dodgers in exchange for Erik Karros and Lenny Harris. The Dodgers then turned around and sent Sparks to the expansion Rockies for 3B Terry Pendelton.

If I didn't know any better I would have thought that you had to pick your expansion players from an 80's all-star team. Ivan Calderon ftw!

I got offered a deal from the twins for Shane Mack and Brian Harper. turned it down though. Maybe i should of turned this into a Minnesota South dynasty?

                                MAY 21ST: Marlins (22-22) Vs Expos (24-20)
Man, that Expos lineup is brutal. I don't know how they're only 2 games better than us at this point. Anyway, we skipped Heaton due to the off day but Tanana got knocked around early before settling down. Heaton pitched a couple of innings late but Ken Hill just stifled our asses.
Final Score: Expos 7 Marlins 0

                                MAY 22ND: Marlins (22-23) Vs Expos (25-20)
Solid victory as Wegman was masterfull and Chris Gwynn getting a spot start had a couple of hits. Carreon blasted a homer and we won a nice one.
Final Score: Marlins 5 Expos 2

                                MAY 23RD: Marlins (23-23) Vs Expos (25-21)
Now then. We nearly batter around in the first, and then did bat around in the 2nd for a total of 8 runs in the first two innings. Bryn Smith proceeded to throw strikes and breeze thru seven innings as we pounded out 18 hits. Carreon & Larkin each had 4 RBI and we cruised to a win in the rubber match of the series.
Final Score: Marlins 11 Expos 3
