      • AUGUST 2ND: Marlins (38-69) At Dodgers (64-44)
Ballard threw 7 innings, allowing just 2 runs but Hideo Nomo only allowed a Goodwin homer as they won a tight pitchers duel. We can't buy a friggin break.

        AUGUST 3RD: Marlins (38-70) At Dodgers (65-44)
Arghhh! Bowen scuffled thru 5 but left with a 6-2 lead which Heredia and Candeleria promptly gave up. We scored twice off of Rob Nenn in the top of the ninth to tie it only for Bedrosian to once again give up a game winning hit, this time to Brett Butler. I am beyond frustrated. Nilsson and Hulse each had 2 hits.

Final Score: Cubs 10 Marlins 3

              AUGUST 14TH: Marlins (41-77) Vs Cubs (61-56)

Financialy we are bleeding money at this point and I can't wait for the season to end on that front as well.
I've upped our System (Scouting, Farm & Medical) payrolls so that's part of the money loss but larger than that we just arn't drawing. We're gonna dip down to 15,000 attendance per game in September probably from 19,000 to start the year.

Not much has changed in the past month that I havn't noted before except for LF David Hulse who has been mightily impressive and really warants some consideration for making the team next season and having a bigger role, production is production.

Saunders of course is worrisome as his control issues seem to have gotten to him. Chuck Smith is still fighting but his raw talent is coming thru more often than not. The rest of the guys, well they are what they are.

                          • I couldn't take anymore. I just simmed thru September keeping an eye on things but not taking any notes. It was cramping my cerebellum!
