Hey that's fine. Lets take your contract to use as an example. If your willing to maintain that 20 million a year salary, then cool, you keep him. But you had no intention of doing that. Your going to renegotiate it first thing next year. The game engine will give you a realistic contract putting him at a very reasonable 7-9 million a year I'm guessing. But if an owner wants to offer a 20 million a year contract for a safety, or 50 million a year for a quarterback throughout the life of the contract, then I have no complaints.Originally posted by DakotaGeorge View PostIm not into big goverment. The people with the big money would still spend the big money to resign the FA the next time he became a FA. Also GMs would just start offering 3 year deals and renegging in the 2nd year. So there is ALWAYS gonna be a way to get things done.

some other leagues have 3 yr minimum deals in FA1 and that works a little, but still not effective. the only way for this issue to be solved is by using the utility to reduce the cap. You can make crazy offers, but it really impacts the team in the future.....
if people are interested, i will ask Ben if he will allow me to utilize it.NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

Some people already keep their teams near the sal cap limit. I dont think this would be a wise idea.

doesn't mean anything. keep it near the cap limit, no matter where it's at.Originally posted by DakotaGeorge View PostSome people already keep their teams near the sal cap limit. I dont think this would be a wise idea.

No to a cap reduction. No, no, no.
Whats the issue here? That some people have tons of cap space they can overspend? And then renegotiate it down?
The team with tons of cap space are usually the bad ones or the old ones. So it brings parity to the league.IFL Champions-- 2016

This leagues never had parity. Every season the same 5 teams are battling it out for the conference championships. I'm not saying it's because the game is not fair or balanced, it's just a matter of those same 5 owners understand the game better then the rest of us.Originally posted by tarcone View PostNo to a cap reduction. However I disagree with blowing off the issue that owners are using the game engine to manipulate free agency and that's it's not a big deal. All I'm suggesting is, close the loophole! Problem solved, or at least it's a start to creating parity in free agency.

Here is my take on things. Changing the cap now with the league this deep would be damaging to some teams. On the other hand I have always wanted to have more interesting free agent classes. A cap reduction wouldnt change my situation one bit I will be heavily under the cap either way. I think we should leave everything as its always been unless someone comes up with a really great plan which might include a GRADUAL reduction over YEARS and YEARS not an abrupt reduction.
Tarcone is also right. The teams with the money to over spend on these guys are teams that are usually bottom feeders and heck it does bring parity. Its like a waiver rule in a fantasy sports league. teams with the bad standings get first priority every week you know? Only problem with this I guess would be the lack of a market to begin with.

The last 10 Imperial Bowls have had 12 different teams play out of a possible 20. A quick check with the last ten NFL Superbowls also shows a total of 12 different teams. Just saying...Originally posted by Jave View PostThis leagues never had parity. Every season the same 5 teams are battling it out for the conference championships.
