happy to scrape by with a W.

too many penalties and turnovers. Our defense was actually pushed around today too.

GG Vito. you've got some nice pcs there in SLC.
Thx, I actually thought so too but I obviously was waaaaaaaaaaaay wrong about my QB

suck-ass season but I've no one to blame there but me. We'll be back

This brought on the ridiculous game mechanic "The defense looked very familiar with the play" to come into play late in the 2nd qtr, which allowed me to shut down the game viewer knowing my offense was done for the day.

I know WVA was 11-0, but this still hurts as it my perfect opportunity to claw back into the playoff picture. 7-5 with them out of the way would have been HUGE since both Murf and Anc lost, but now 2 games back with 4 to go (not counting tiebreakers) is a pretty impossible feat.

Both teams have a pretty cupcake schedule the rest of the way, so that pretty much seals my season.

GG WVA. If my season had to end now, I'm glad it was at the hands of an undefeated team.
yup, the penalties were huge. And they weren't spread out, either. Twice, your team seemed to be hit with four flags in only a couple plays. Tough way to knock yourself out of what seemed like, early on, a tight ballgame.

good game. Good luck the rest of the way.

HOLY F'N CRAP! Lawrence just came out and kicked us in the teeth, then punched us in the nuts. We were just laying there bleeding for 3 quarters. I couldn't stop a fucking thing he was doing. I was just sitting there, watching them run up and down the field, it was fucking sad, but not unexpected. Untill.....
            4-8-OAK23 (3Q: 03:51) Clay Greene attempted a 40 yard field goal and succeeded. Lawrence 31, Oakland 14
            (cue Rocky theme)

Donovan, Stuart and Thompson huddled and decided, FUCK IT, were just gonna throw the game plan out the window and play street ball. Down 31-14 it became the "pitch and catch" show:
Horace Donovan pass completed to WR David Thomason for 11 yards. The receiver went out of bounds. Tackled by S Russell McBrayer.

Horace Donovan pass completed to WR David Thomason for 2 yards. The receiver went out of bounds.

Horace Donovan pass completed to WR David Thomason for 12 yards. Tackled by DE Vernon Copeland

Horace Donovan pass completed to WR Winston Stuart for 1 yard and a TOUCHDOWN!

Horace Donovan pass completed to WR Winston Stuart for 40 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Oakland 34, Lawrence 31
WHAT A FUCKING COMEBACK!!! WOW, just WOW, what an EPIC game, what an epic win!!
DAMN Jester....I dunno what to say. You proved once again your team is just fucking good every damn year. I just hope I don't have to see you again in the playoffs.

And yes, I DID listen to the Rocky theme writing this!!!

Wow! Brutal comeback for Oakland. Congrats, Jave!

I've gone from NC's best to Wild Card hopeful in 2 horrible weeks.

                  Tidbits:

Fucking Vancouver, I just can't shake the bastard. Back to back games against Cleveland, the reigning IFL Champions, and Lawrence, who loses like 3 fucking games a year every year and the fucking Whales are just hanging right in there only one game back ready to snatch the division if I make just ONE mistake.

                  OFF POTWQB Matt Sanford (TUL)20/28, 333yds, 4TD, 0INT
How in the hell does Sanford get POTW? WTF does this game want! A come from behind win against one of the leagues top 5 teams and:

                      Better YPC for Sanford.

In real life, would Donovan win? Most likely, but FOF is a pretty shitty out-dated code that would have been much better served being written by someone who cares and doesn't take like 5 years between real updates.

(if I didn't like this league and my team, I would have quit many many seasons ago because of the actual game)

pretty happy with my team's performance. Defense was good, offense was ok. Good win after the bad game against Vancouver last week. Still can't figure out how to get some consistency, though.

jeff ... turnovers kill you everytime and that was the difference in the game plus Morris' two long shots from 54 and 52 yards out. What a weapon he is turning out to be.

Several key moments in the game. One was:

2-2-NFK11 (3Q: 10:10) Jay Caro pass completed to WR Dominic Field for 11 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! PENALTY: Portland was called for Illegal Use of the Hands.
2-12-NFK21 (3Q: 09:59) Jay Caro sacked by OLB Rob Peterson for a loss of 6 yards. Sack allowed by Leonard Mattes. The ball was fumbled and recovered by NFK Curtis Carpenter for 15 yards to the NFK42.

But the play of the game was the Viper stop on the one yard line with the situation being 4th and goal. That was sweet!!!!

Statistically, Seals dominated first downs and time of possession. Just glad to get out of Portland with the win.

You have a very good team. It is tough to get your stride back while transitioning signal callers. For some reason, we have always kept Caro in check. But back to this season, you got a fight on your hand with Anchorage. Good luck on that and good game.

West Virgina - Newark has to be the headliner next week. It should be a killer game and you don't have to guess whose sideline we will be backing! Matt, time for you to return a favor!

Was just going through stat sheet an saw this:
                              Fumble Statistics

                              OaklandFumbRecovForceTD
                              Horace Donovan2000
Now, I think your right. Even if Donovan hadn't fumbled it twice, it would have been awarded to Sanford, but at least if there was an edge to be given to one of the two, I can see why Donovan was edged out.

I also don't think it takes SOS into the equation. Obviously Lawrence is a stronger team then Penn, but being basically a spreadsheet, it just looked at raw numbers.

                                Hamilton hit some milestones.

Career Milestone. Late in the 2nd Q his 15 yard TD pass to Sam Farrell that put Dakota up 14-10 was the 500th of his career.

Season Milestone he has thrown for over 3000 yards.

Now virtually eliminated from the playoffs rookie QB Poston is poised to get reps.
