Yea, I remember last year one of my guys was a FA and for 5 weeks NO ONE else even bid on him so I stopped upping the bid. Then in week 6 someone outbid me by 100k a year and he signed with them.Originally posted by BuddaKINGII View Postcrap I wish my guys would sign. Now someone is going to swoop in and take them. Time for drastic measures?

This is why I always suck at FA. I offer say...15.5 a year. Next guy comes in and offers 16.2...I up the bid to 17.1 and then 2 guys come in and offer 28.8.....I must be doing something wrong cause some dudes round here sure have a ton of cap space....

I always thought the idea of bidding was to bid as low as possible but still win the item. You ever see those car actions on those bad ass old RoadRunners and Camero's? I can't say I have ever seen the bidding at 100k, then 103k...then the next dude offer 550k....Only in the IFL!!!

I kinda feel the same way about bidding. I'm not really willing to pay the amount of money some others are. Maybe I am playing this game too much like the real NFL, where they usally not pay those immense sums. This might be wrong in the aspects of the game, but I rather lose on a free agent, than giving out those huge contracts. It might work for those who are willing to pay, but I'm just not that way. I'll probably have to build my team through the draft then.GM since 2015

The bidding is exactly like the NFL. Some teams doesn't want to spend and some give crazy money on overrated players.
For me it all depends of the players, there's some players that I don't mind to grossly overpay because I need them badly.
As for the fact that some players are not taking the biggest offer. It's also like the NFL. Some players are choosing a team because of the coaches or the fact that they're close to their home.
I think the way free agency is handled in this game is realistic. The only problem is that there's not enough talent, but it's another story.sigpic

I never really argued they were unrealistic compared to the NFL, however when the top bid is say....16 mil a year, and a team throws out a 26 mil a year offer my OPINION is that is a foolish, irresponsible and possibly damaging offer. If he gets hurt in week on you have mortgaged your entire teams future on ONE guy.Originally posted by CyYoung View PostThe bidding is exactly like the NFL. not really mortgaging your entire teams FUTURE. Well for the particular deal we are talking about its only a 2 year mortgage IF he gets hurt. not like he offered him 26 mil a year in a long term deal its very short term.Originally posted by Jave View PostI never really argued they were unrealistic compared to the NFL, however when the top bid is say....16 mil a year, and a team throws out a 26 mil a year offer my OPINION is that is a foolish, irresponsible and possibly damaging offer.
