I personally wish Allan would walk away for his own legacy. You don't see Charles Yon around here looking like Bird with a bad back. At this point Crespo is no longer the guy that got a gazzillion yards in a few seasons to me, he's played a whole career and most of it wasn't the part that I want to remember.

I for one am staying away from Crespo... and any other player who was signed this way and had to be dropped. I don't see any blatant abuse of the rules on any signing and wish the teams who had their contracts voided the best in re-signing them.

For those that want a tighter salary cap this is one of the rules you might want to pay attention on revisiting.


Limiting bonus money limits dead money which increases available salary cap room.

lol look at the contract Burnett got from Reno. We need to revisit extending the contract rules for 2 yrs to all years. Sorry but this an exploit that there is no need for, everyone needs a fair shot at a player. Yes im a little burned I lost out because I offered him a legit contract...5yr/40mil, 14 mil bonus.

Yeah, i agree with you Buddha. I wasn't involved in the bidding for him but that crap is just outrageous. I think the rule should be changed to over every year instead of just the two.

I agree with BOSS and Buddha That contract is bogus and another exploit of the leagues financials. 2 years must be extended to all years. offers the guy like 6 mil salary over 5 years then 35 mil bonus? Anyone find that someone makeing 900k this year is makeing 7 mil bonus this year a little I dunno bogus? absolutely bogus? Maybe I feel a little burned too since I was offering a contract to him. Still how is that a fair chance? If I want someone in free agency now I need to offer 40 mil bonus to even have a shot? a 50 rated player oh my I wonder how fkd up the bonus bidding would be on a 60 rated player if one slipped thru. This is an injustice! Extend the rule to all years!

On the FLIP side, if he ever tries to cut, trade or restructure that deal, all that bonus money is accelerated, and he will be in a GIGANTIC world of hurt. What looks good one year when a person has a boatload of cap space can absolutely CRIPPLE you in another...
