    2) I the other league you're in, how many seasons had it lasted? How do we know that in 6 years, the NFL will not be running rampant? Yeah, we're in a "depression" right now in real life, but maybe the IFL never went through a world where the economy went belly up. 20 years ago, no one could imagine the NFL cap being where it is today.. in game it's 2015.. things change.. not always to the better.

The other league is still running and was running before this one started up. a few owners in here are from that league but thats not the point.

The NFL's salary cap currently runs up in 2011 I believe. It's in the very near future and a new agreement wasn't close last I read.

You want it your way. Exactly the way you want it. It's ok as you said to accept a $710k contract so you're ok with increased offers just not over your arbitrary limit. No extent at all to learn nor adjust. You've even brushed aside every point made and simply repeat yourself as others directy respond to your statements.

        Infant mode? Irony.

No I just want the game to be played the way it should and be a simulation of a football league not be a simulation of football and something else which is somewhat a league.

I agree with BOSS the FA Market is just one mans trash another mans treasure because there is nothing stopping you from signing every single player you want because the SALARY CAP WE CURRENTLY HAVE IS ABSOLUTELY NON EXISTANT.

You know there is rules in this game that come from the NFL right. I mean in game rules. Like contract rules. Like cutting or tradeing a player you have to pay for his bonus. Those rules are specificly in place to prevent you from giving huge bonuses and such. I find it ironic and just a huge joke that I could actually Trade my RB Jamison and AFFORD to take the 17 million dollar cap hit without a problem.

and btw Lets not blame this on the game and how the game plays because this never ever happens when you play the single player game. you never see 50 players under contract 35 mil under cap. This isnt how the game was even designed by the creator to be played.

Im not saying it makes or breaks my gameing expirence but yeah this isn't how a GM simulation should work nor a league the idea of being a GM is to have to manage economics aswell Didnt know we were playing on infant mode Avalon Hill board games ages 6-12 . btw I never seen this problem in the other league I was in.
Again, this a FOF league, FOF is the game we use. It has warts. If you think a league where the Salary Cap is enforced outside of the game is more your style then go and go ahead and start a league and do it yourself, I certainly have no intention of devoting that sort of time to it. This is a game, not my life. If you don't think this is how a GM simulation should work then this is not the game for you, it has nothing to do with this particular league.

I think your wrong on this point. It is this particular league. Can you list me a handful of other online multiplayer leagues haveing this bad of a cap problem using the FOF game? Like I said the single player game doesnt even play like this. This seems to me to be IFL specific.

Your team sucks. I'm not saying it's your fault since you inherited it but it's fact.

I couldn't take that hit. Nor could a lot of other playoff teams.

As I said I'm up against and have been up against the cap every season. The cap works. When you constantly trade all your picks for a shiny new 1st rounder and start each season with under 40 players on your roster then of course you'll have a lot of cap space. And then when you don't sign anyone because the other offers are "too high" you'll continue to have cap space. And when you continually don't draft well and I mean multiple players each season you're left with bums to release and therefore more cap space.

I can't see how someone can say they want to be competitive while at the same time they want other team's quality players for free, which is the heart of the FA argument.

I am in no way attacking you. I'm explaining to you how the game works, which you don't like. You're the one who's getting worked up and personal to an unneeded degree.

How much effort exactly would you like me to put in into making the game the way you want it to run? Again, this is not my game, i didn't code it, I can't rewrite it. There is a base we have to work with and we try and do our best to make it as fun as possible but I can't just snap my fingers and make it be exactly what I want.

Actually yes, what stops you from signing anyone you want is that there are 31 other owners. Anyone of whom can outbid you if they put themselves in the right state to do so.

Again. You have no understanding of the game if this is your assesment. SP and MP are 2 entirely different beasts.

Well, I know of quite a few leagues that have instituted rules to help alleviate this problem, with varying degree of success, none of which completely solve the problem. So yeah, I can say that alot of them have had this issue.

                            A) That proves you were wrong.

                            B) How should I address the problem?

                            C) Keep in mind that i've told you about 5 times already that turning down the cap increase will do nothing. I can make it fairly static and every year will be just like this one, it won't improve what you percieve the problem to be.

lol I was playing this game before you even knew what it was about. I was playing this game when he personally mailed the chit out to you and it came on a yellow cd.

"Actually yes, what stops you from signing anyone you want is that there are 31 other owners. Anyone of whom can outbid you if they put themselves in the right state to do so."

Not if he is already on your team. Once a player is on your team he is yours if you want him no matter what. Simple as that.

Probably why the same teams always make the playoffs in this league. Cause no players ever change hands.

Well if other leagues are putting in rules for the same problem then its a problem. I don't know the answers to correct this but it is a problem.

There is no tough roster moves i have to make ever. I can sign anybody i want with no problem. While everyone else can do the same thing. I just hate that its like this because its not challenging.

The contracts some of these guys want is pretty low compared to the amount of money thats out there.

I have a way i can sign my own guys that they will take a 15-20 percent less then what they ask. This has helped me out a lot through the years but i didn't really have to be do this because the last few seasons there have been plenty of money.

I just think the direction were heading now is just gonna get worse and worse as seasons go on. By year 2020 just about every team is gonna be like 80 million under the cap.
