roadrash --- two words --- special teams

Lozier - no impact except on the goalline
    Beamer - held in check
Bly - was he on the field?
Vipers O - was it on the field?
Sammy - ok but nothing to write home about
Shapirro - thank god, you only threw to him 14 times
IWC D - pretty damn good showing

IWC special teams -- not very pretty pretty memories, including the blocked kick
Nor special teams -- saved the day, especially for field position throughout game

You have a very good team. I expect for you to be a major player in the final dance after the regular season.

What the hell happened to my gameplan??? According to what I set (and still see after opening today's file) I was supposed to run roughly 50% on 1st and 10 with no adjustments during "regular situations" and yet I didn't run a single time all game except for when I was in my own 1-6 or the last couple or minutes when thankfully the PC took over for some clock drainage that should've started about 2 quarters earlier.

Can one of the nice mods check this out for me?

Shit.. I'm pissed off now.. but only because we COULD have won this game.. not because we SHOULD have..
I really thought you were going to win this one. Especially after seeing "the defense is familiar" in the 1st or early 2nd quarter. With whatever happened to my gameplan I would've gotten spanked had all your starters been in there.

I have to admit I was a bit surprised you came out slinging like that given that I've got a pretty solid pass-defense. To be honest, I'm a bit confused I passed as much as I did, since I tried gameplanning around the fact that I had a weak QB. The short passing was gameplanned though.. figured if I focused on Kayser and Logan, Thompson's job should be easier.. but hell no..

I just noticed that "never" for the offensive gameplan adjustments doesn't mean "never adjust" but instead "never do said thing in said situation". That explains a lot. Better luck next week I hope.

GG Reno... We get lucky to get the final score in this game. Just glad we are back at 500... But the schedule just gets tougher for us. LR twice and Texas twice and Tulsa again who we lost to in week one....

Rook, I think we may have a rivarly on our hands. This is the key play:

1-20-NFK20 (3Q: 05:56) Harold Lozier pass completed to TE Jerald Harden for 7 yards. Tackled by ILB David Day. Harden gained 8 yards after the catch. The ball was fumbled and recovered by NFK Bennie Caine for 73 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Norfolk 23, Iowa City 13

                AND

4-5-NFK08 (2Q: 09:45) Sherwood Hack attempted a 25 yard field goal and it was blocked by Jacinto Aldana. NFK Jacinto Aldana recovered the ball at the NFK11 and returned it 15 yards.
That ain't right. . .Sammy was better than the Finger in this game. My defense held back the flood well. And Beamer ate up the clock. This is another bitter loss in a series that just seems to keep getting worse.

The good news, is that I beat you last year, then lost in the playoffs. This year, you beat me, and when we meet in the playoffs. . .

Some retrospect.. we go down honorably I'd say.. we have a bye-week next week, so Crawford should be out there for the game against Madison. I doubt Virgil's broken foot will be ok though, but Dawkins might be back.. I mean.. a strain.. come on.. cowboy up!

Again, trying to look positively at things.. Louie Doyle has had a great season as a "junior", his pass rush has really improved. With 12 hurries already, you have to imagine he's been learning from Hernandez who really has perfected that artform.

I agree, there is a rivalry in the air ... I spent more time gameplanniing against you than any other game this year because I knew it was going to be a wild one. As for the playoffs, just look at the all-time W-L playoff record for the Snipes and then take a gander at the Vipes.

Lozier - no impact except on the goalline - He is scary just being there
Beamer - held in check - 22 touches for 99 yards is nothing to scoff at
Bly - was he on the field? - Making a not on calendar - 1st time a IWC Wr was doubled all day
Vipers O - was it on the field? - Is the catch, fumble, recover, TD in the playbook?
Sammy - ok but nothing to write home about - No INTS, write home!
Shapirro - thank god, you only threw to him 14 times - ORotY? Sammy isn't throwing into double coverage, and my stud TE and FB are old, this is real good news.
IWC D - pretty damn good showing - Even with a loss, I am happy about this. I can't blame them for this showing. They played a stout game against one of the best Os in the league.

ST- I am thinking of firing my entire special teams unit. . .

Ugly defense makes backup QB Randall Burns look like Troy Aikman. Need Sobel and Cash back.
                        Gomez killed me.

Wow...Defense stepped it up a bit with a bend but no break attack. Seems the double coverage on Caffrey was helpful, although Greer and Silvan took advantage of the one to one coverage. Secondary, definately improved. Lara threw 2 ints and had 1 fumble, but was 21 for 27. When he starts to reach his potential, we may have finally solved our QB issues. I don't care what the scouts say about him right now, he is the first Dakota QB who actually can put the ball away in the Red Zone and get some points.

Clayton Davis tried to destroy his old team with 2 picks, but ultimately it was the 3rd down conversion percentage that told the story of this game...that and Orlando getting alot of penalties, and McCellion putting us in good field position on every kick and punt. And then there was the 52 yard FG by Lee and a drive inside of 5 minutes that wore down the clock.

3-4...I should give up on the season more often.
