Yeah, Steve and I are just taking general potshots at each other. I'm not really worried about the Seals though. I've had this game circled since the schedule was revealed and am pretty confident I can impart my will on them.
Houston will have to wait to feel my wrath. Thank heaven I have about 30 "super genius" gameplans stockpiled.I luv British womenz.

A quick update on the Tulsa-St Louis trade.
RB Tim Austin-- 81 carries for 294 yards. An impressive 3.63 average. 5 TDs. 5 fumbles. 5 receptions for 28 yards.
#25 pick MLB Clay Bradbury-- 66 tackles, leads league. 21 assists. 1 interception, 7 defensed passes and 22 caught against. 2 forced fumbles, 1 recovered.
Still have a 1st round pick.
Edge is to Tulsa so far. Austins YPC is low and should improve I would think.IFL Champions-- 2016

it's a weird feeling, ya know, that no matter what you export it'll only result in a loss. it's like i'm on the outside looking in, everyone else has a clue and can make their team win. Cardinals have no business having that record. their talent level is nowhere near that of the Heroes. i can't grasp how they're winning and i'm losing.

lol. Dude, I have an excellent team with cohesion thru the friggin roof. You don't think it matters that McMurray has been throwing to the same set of recievers for the past 4 seasons (7 to Hall & Bauer & Beyer) and been protected by 3/5ths of the same O-Line forever.

Not even focusing on me there are a ton of teams in this conference that have been built over the long haul, you couldn't have expected to come right in and just become a contender right out of the gates. Stop being so dissapointed, you arn't failing. It's gonna take time.I luv British womenz.

Welcome to the club...it's like you can't really make your team do what you drafted it to do with this crap-ass sim engine. Too many times in the game my coach is calling some BS play that shouldn't even be available according to my gameplan. I thought that I'd figured out a system that would allow me to run heavy and throw to my tight ends in sp mode but that has failed miserably with SLC's personnel. This sucks ass![Vito]Stallion

I find just the opposite. I now feel I have better control over my gameplanning, such as how far to kick a field goal to short versus long passes, etc. And just like OOTP, you have to really be careful in regard to the "bars" and ratings. You need to look long and hard at stats. I remember a Defensive End name McBroom, who was rated a 45 and had low bars on pass rush, leading my team in sacks. Now I have a 15 rated rookie QB with a potential of 51 that has had better success than anyone I've trotted out there. My theory then is, draft for ratings, but after the draft, throw the ratings out the window and scout on stats and "real life" performances, this is especially true for free agent acquisitions.
And before we get into the..."see this isn't like the real NFL at all" discussion, lets be reminded of Kurt Warner who's ratings stunk and then led the league in passing, then when everyone had him rated high, couldn't pass his way out of a paper bag. There are just so many different variables than to gameplan on scouting.
Just my two cents.MIAMI VICE - 2074

so basically the winners and losers in this league are the ones who had a great initial inaugural draft from 2003, that's the theme i'm getting. you got great players in 2003, then you have a reason to keep the same players together for 7+ seasons. IHOF is the same way.
but still, cohesion or not, i have better overall talent than you. that has to count for more than just 1 win. there shouldn't be this many 1 win team this far into the season. it's like night and day in IFL. either you'e a winner or you're a loser. there's hardly many "in the middle" teams than can change their fortunes with one or two trades. not complaining, just venting. all in all, even seeing how great Gomez is doing this season i'm glad i moved him cuz it's time this team was able to build around a younger core.
but seriously, when you add in more superior talent than you had the previous season, it's supposed to make you better. you're not supposed to take a step back. i added Gomez, Lundquist and Otey, and that only counted for 1 win. i had worse players last season and i wasn't losing so much. sigh.

No. That's not at all what anyone is saying. It's just what you're misunderstanding... still.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postso basically the winners and losers in this league are the ones who had a great initial inaugural draft from 2003, that's the theme i'm getting. you got great players in 2003, then you have a reason to keep the same players together for 7+ seasons. No, it doesn't. Talent = ZERO wins. Gameplanning alone = ZERO wins. Anything alone = ZERO wins. Stop me if you've heard this before: Wins and losses are a combination of MANY things. If you don't have the time or inclination to do ALL of them then you're going to lose. Trading for high overall players is kids' stuff and will never work in any football sim worth playing.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postbut still, cohesion or not, i have better overall talent than you. that has to count for more than just 1 win.
And where are you getting this information? If there's "this many x win teams" then it's because there is supposed to be exactly this many x win teams.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postthere shouldn't be this many 1 win team this far into the season.
I agree there seems to be disparity in the IFL and the reason is that some GMs are more committed and able than others.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postit's like night and day in IFL. either you'e a winner or you're a loser. there's hardly many "in the middle" teams than can change their fortunes with one or two trades.
As for changing fortunes with one or two trades: It's not all about your roster. Switch GMs with some of the consistently good teams and "consistently bad teams and the records will NOT be what they currently are.
There is no "supposed to" other than the IFL's rule that a GM is "supposed to field a winning team". You've had the same explanation from so many GMs and just refuse to do the one thing that you need to: Learn how to gameplan. And it's gonna take time. You're not going to be a good gameplanner by the end of the season. Maybe not next season. Maybe not ever if it "just doesn't click".Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postbut seriously, when you add in more superior talent than you had the previous season, it's supposed to make you better. you're not supposed to take a step back. i added Gomez, Lundquist and Otey, and that only counted for 1 win. i had worse players last season and i wasn't losing so much. sigh.
