I don't have the game opens, but what if Norfolk wins the division and I win my division ending up tied with them? Don't I have the tiebreaker over them in h2h? I think that's the only way I can win a first round bye if there is any shot at all

Who needs the game open when all the information is available in the database?

You'd win the tiebreaker due to beating them during the season, so you would get a bye if both you and Norfolk win the division.

Edited lead story again, for the umpteenth time ... thanks guys, you are correct.

I just noticed I held the Cards to 72 yards this season, in two games. Shaun Putz had 23 of them. Good thing they have McMurray, although I think they're holding him back by allowing Putz to run instead of him.

Speaking of Mark, did he die yet?

Yeah, homerism aside, the MVP race shouldn't be very tight.
I'm talking about him in a Lozier sense. Lozier tends not to put up the gaudiest stats, but as we saw when Les Bishop was playing, he made the Vipers go. Caro has all the stats, he'll win the award, but you can make a case for Hickman to get it, I would expect him to finish 2nd or 3rd based upon the improvement the Griz have had this year compared to last when he missed 1/2 the season.

Been circled on my calendar from the start too.

... lovin' it when things look well in hand for the Griz, but the other team finds a way to say: you can run but you can't hide, even with Finger being down for the last six weeks.

... lovin' the chance to win it on the field, as circled on the calendar.

              ... lovin' these big games.

The Vipers will come loaded for Grizzly this Sunday at the snake pit. Bring it or lose it.
I knew it was going to come down to this week. I really hoped that with you guys losing Lozier and Brown I would be able to get a little more breathing room. Still, this is fitting. It all comes down to the last game, obviously this is the Sunday night matchup.

I would love to see an impartial breakdown of the game by someone since this is easily the most important game of the season. Potentially we have the #1 seed on the line for the AC. Or maybe it is the #2 or #3 seed on the line, who knows!

Still regardless of what happens, this is our best performance in a year to date, by far. Unfortunately, this is not the year to make a run. Once the playoffs start, anything could happen. I want no part of Houston or St. Louis again, especially on the road.

One thing that didn't stick with me was how good a team i had last year and how we sucked in the playoff game vs Anchorage. I'm not taking anyone lightly but i need some redemption so i dont care who i play. I need to atone for that fart of a game.

When Lozier won the MVP in '05, he had 3600 yards passing and 30 TD's compared to 5 INT's. His 96 QB rating was better than Chung, Colella, Caro, McMurray, Irby, Steiner, and Hickman have ever done. Sepulveda, JC, Chaplin, and Hamilton have only really beaten it once (they have a couple around there). He had an exceptional stat year.

That's not to take anything away from Hickman, he has had a great year for one of the teams with the best records in the league. But Steiner's MVP had a lot to do with his stats.

It's too bad Caro is having the season he's having, because i'd really consider voting for Timmerman as MVP. Despite the injuries to Booker and Beckner this season, i'm only a few points away from having my highest point scoring season so far. That was helped in large part to 1,100 rushing yards with 11 TDs, and 500 receiving yards with another 6 TDs there.

Maybe i'm just a homer though

caro really is MVP, i mean, he's the whole reason jeff bailed out on Oakland in the first place.

i really think Collela should be in contention for the Comeback Player Award. this is by far his best season. a career year. his being on the team is no coincidence for California's emergence in the league.

also, now that Collela has put up the year he has - where does he rank among the league's QB's? i wouldn't put him in the elite group with Caro, but is he 2nd tier? middle of the road?

It is certainly a great game but I'd debate that it's the biggest of the year due to the fact that if you're going by team records then Law/Por was the game of the year, and if you're going by what rides on the game then I'd go with CLE/IWC since the loser goes home. The playoffs start for real this week for CLE and IWC. The loser of your game still plays next week.

Yeah, but to be comeback player of the year didn't you have to go somewhere? Collela just sucked.
