I like the fact that everyone is kinda on the same level - at least with this intentional "fog of war" concerning the formulas driving the game. Otherwise there would be no point until you had mastered the formulas, and then what would be the point.

I was briefly in an online F1 racing sim. After a month or so, with absoutly no assistance on the forums, it was apparent that group of people had "tuned" into the formulas and there was no way I would every be competitive. Basically because I did not speak Portugese - lol

And I will be dammed if I learn another language just so my simulated sports endevaors are more successful

Penalties drive me crazy and mostly because we're completely helpless as GM's when it comes to them. Coach ratings mean squat. I've changed coaches over the years and chased that rating, and still had tons of penalties.

They should have some type of discipline rating in the game, I don't think that's asking for too much, and it's a realistic rating, far more than the weird QB ratings (how does a QB master throwing 20 yards but he stinks if he throws 1 yard further?).

Anyway, it's easy to tell which players have good and poor discipline in camp, practice and games. And if they feel like that's giving away too much, i'm fine with that, but at least tell us who is causing penalties so we can deal with it. If there is one offensive lineman giving you a hold and 2-3 false starts a game, it may be a good idea to get rid of him.

That, and the horrid clock management are annoyances to me, but i'm just overlooking them. The game is still pretty fun and the league is great.

Regarding penalties, someone at Solecismic did say that the only impact on the number of penalties was the coach's discipline rating, but it takes years for it to change (there is no quick fix for this).

The other stuff, is a matter of tweaking things in the game plan. All this game is, is a great big fancy RNG. Due to that, there are strings of results one way or another. You need to look and see what is causing the problems. And as frustrating as it may sound, you may need to look at the game log and figure out what is happening.

But, the one issue that has always bugged me about the games is the lack of documentation for the coverages. We have more documentation this year, but there are still plenty of questions to answer. I want to know what factors play into what coverage. For 2 Deep, BnR, are only the CBs in BnR, or are the LBs as well? What happens when you play a nickel defense, does the nickel back play BnR, or is he falling back into a zone? Etc., etc.

Good victory, Cringer! I gambled on playing Stanfield and lost.

My team is worrying me this season.

My input for the ongoing discussions:

Answer to the "comeback code": When one's own team comes back in the end it was previously envisioned by one so therefore easily forgotten; when one's opponent comes back in the end it's emotionally crushing and one can't accept that the advantage that they had was not a guarantee of victory in that particular game but merely an advantage that has since been taken away. There has never been a comeback code in the history of video games. The idea that a programmer (human and therefore lazy by nature) would program a whole 'nother set of hidden commands simply for the end result of pissing off their customers is mind-bottling.

Input on FOF's shortcomings: FOF has no concept of a pooch kick. 90% of punts between the 50 and the opponents 35 yard line result in touchbacks. This kills me a little more each and every week.

i agree with this immensely. it's so bad that to be honest i really would consider just going for it on 4th down on the opponent's 40 yard line, it's not worth it for me to punt it - have it result in a touchback - and only move the other team back 20 yards.

what's the point of a punter having a "directional punting" rating if he isn't gonna try and kick it out of bounds between the 10 yard line and the goal line?

Mediacom can suck my ass. Internet been down 2 days now. Every 4 days, it goes down another 2 days. So yea, just got back online.

Props to Martinez. You are a god, you deserve your 100 million dollar contract. No idea how I will afford you next year, but who cares, thats next year.
A big win against Dakota is fun, but its a long season and I lost another linebacker..........sigh. Now I remember why I signed linebackers galore.....I forsaw this crap.

Madison.........nice win against SLC. Not going to be so easy vs Hamilton and company.

I noticed with Kemp and Niedo that my offensive holds and false starts increased. Maybe it has do with cohesion and the player's int. I dont know I just look past that part...

If you are talking about Mid-Week, that should be run on Tuesday, around 3PM, I think.

                          Which reminds me...

Since Suicane is out of order (he's having problems with Comcast in case that hasn't been said anywhere), I'll have to run the midweek at a later time like I did last week. Look for it to be ran around 8-10 pm central tomorrow.
