I'm thankful for anyone that has sent in a ballot already. Voting before the regular season ended isn't exactly ideal, but with the holidays and stuff guys just need to get'r done.Originally posted by spunkywhitebreadThe season just ended 3 hours ago. Who the heck is sending in ballots already? Can we cane them?"Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

I'm not exactly thrilled with the mandatory voting. Just want to go on record with that...Originally posted by JeffYou can cane the guys that end up not voting at all. Unless them not being in the league anymore will be punishment enough.Originally posted by spunkywhitebreadLess thankful and more caning.

That's understandable. I wasn't jumping for joy when I decided to do things this way, but I found it necessary for a few reasons. It's possible this will be the only year I do this. Though, if only half the league is voting for the Owner Awards again somewhere down the line then there isn't much use in having them anyways.Originally posted by WarhammerI'm not exactly thrilled with the mandatory voting. Mules nominate 3rd rounder Karl Hinson - SLB for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Karl started all 16 games and finished 3rd in the IFL with 4 forced fumbles, to go along with 2 sacks and a 1.4 PR%. Karl also defended 5 passes and was involved in 87 tackles.
I would gladly link to the db but I haven't a clue as to how to do it.
FWIW three rookie Mule LBs started 41 games to go along with Magnum starting 13 games at CB and a rookie Punter who had a great year, but no way I nominate a P for nothing.sigpic

i concur on the mandatory voting for all categories. my votes were not necessarily the greatest quality. if we go this route in the future we should have a ballot with a short write up for the players nominated so we get better quality votes. just a thought....Originally posted by JeffThat's understandable. I initially planned on (and started) creating a ballot with a short list of possible selections like Cringer used to. I chose against it for a couple of reasons.
a) I found it difficult to narrow things down and I didn't want to slight anyone or give certain players advantages
b) I didn't want to insult anyone's intelligence. Breakout POY is a little tough because guys can be hard to find, but the rest should be pretty easy to figure out. I just didn't see any point in mentioning what guys are leading the league in offensive statistics when that info is all out there."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

I originally thought it was kind of a shitty deal, but the more I thought about it, how hard is it to vote? It takes only a few minutes. I think we as owners deserve to give this time back. We owe it for all the work that certain guys do for the enjoyment of the entire group. A small comparison.
I don't know what the turn in has been in years past, but i'm assuming that it hasn't been spectacular. For the overall league enjoyment, it would be nice to get the full diverse voting.NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR
