Im gonna stop here, but I think it's pretty evident that the logic isn't all that much better, just going off these early results. Just as in last version, once a team gets in range, they pretty much settle for the FG.I luv British womenz.

I'd love for the coach to actually gameplan based on his characteristics. I'm in agreement with you in hoping that that was tinkered with too.Originally posted by Hell Atlantici wish he'd make it more customizable, chile.
i don't know about all these gameplanning options - it's really tedious for me to do it. i know that's a big part of running a team, but i want to be a GM, not a fucking coach.
one thing i wish he'd do is this:
you hire a coach. you hit recommend and the gameplanning fields populate according to how that coach wants the team to play. if he sucks, like you put together a power running team and your team is dead last in rushing and you pass a lot obviously he's not a good fit for your team so you'd fire him. next coach you hire, you hit recommend and the gameplan changes. you get the point. right now coaches are just good for developing your players. you don't really see the effect the coaches have on the end result. at least with my way it'd be more about "this is the type of team i assembled - here, coach, have at it".I luv British womenz.

Heres my general impression so far. Alot more stuff to do, Alot more ways to read and output what gets done. But does it all correlate? Does the middle part take what you want and actually do it before it spits out all those nice stats? I dunno, but im leery.I luv British womenz.

I see all those game situations and notice one thing. They're all in the 2nd quarter. I can't tell you how many times I see coaches in the NFL do the exact same thing. From the 9, you can make a case to go for it a few times, no argument there.
The other issue is you gotta know what their FG setting is at. In game 3, you're talking about a 53 yard FG. If they are not set to attempt one, they're not going to try it.
The big advantage to this version, as I see it:
More coverages with more info about them. Now you can run a Tampa Cover-2. Some coverages are better against the run, and others are better against the pass.
You can control who plays where in what situation. You're running a nickel? Now you can have that pass coverage LB come into play MLB, etc. Same with the DBs.
The depth chart is accesible from the roster.
You can control on the game plan whether you want a short pass or long pass (% wise). IE, you're in a second and short situation, you have 25% run, 15% short pass (screen - 10 yards), 60% long (10+) with all the different range bands as a sub category of pass. So, 50% of those short passes could be the 5-8 variety, etc.
You can set who is on your special teams, or whether or not they are supposed to be on special teams.
Veteran's contracts
You can see what playing a guy out of position is going to be ratings-wise.
Game preview gives stats for the teams on that screen, 1st in passing offense, 5th against the pass, etc.
There are definitely some improvements. I think a lot of people were expecting some other stuff to be there and are frustrated that it isn't, and letting that color their judgement.

The height/weight stuff is new, but I don't think you can see the actual ratings until you make the actual change. And I imagine that MP position changing will be the same in that you won't see your changes until you export and the commish imports and exports back."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

I understand that it's the 2nd quarter, but find me 1 instance out of those 10 games where a team passed inside the 20 yard line?
Im willing to be that if I do search after search I will find VERY few instances where a team even tries to throw the ball.
It tells me the logic is switching the passing game off at some point, for everyone.I luv British womenz.

Not that, go to the player card and right click on the bars. It shows what the guy's experience is at each position. So your LDEs are all injured and you want to know which RDE is going to play better at LDE, etc.Originally posted by Jeff:?:Originally posted by WarhammerYou can see what playing a guy out of position is going to be ratings-wise.

This is what I always wanted. I'd hope for a under 2 minute gameplan but I guess that wasnt in the works. I'd get aggressive as hell unlike the current coaches. You can control who plays where in what situation. You're running a nickel? Now you can have that pass coverage LB come into play MLB, etc. Same with the DBs.

I don't think so. I could be wrong about that though. Still, it makes it nice to see all the positions at once rather than click, check, click, check, for multiple positions.Originally posted by JeffThat's really just a graphical representation of the same dialog box we get in FOF 2004 is it not?Originally posted by WarhammerNot that, go to the player card and right click on the bars. Plus, the ability to have a player put on weight is huge.
