ROFL.....ok, I give ya some props on trying to own me......the only problem is, your win/loss ratio was no better then mine. But since you were not able to start the season with the team, I will give ya another season to show me how it's done.
Expectations are high however........I left you with the best possible situation both talent and cap wise..all you have to do is come up with the gameplan. Don't make me come back to clean up your mess......

Yikes. That is an ugly situation. Good luck to luis.. 37 current players signed, nearly $10m over the cap, 1st overall pick, and no easy targets to unload without causing even more cap trouble in the futureOriginally posted by MattI thought I was in rough shape this year, then I looked at WV. Just a huge mess. How are they even going to afford to sign their 1st overall picks in the next few years.
This will be some turnaround story when it finally happens, but we may not see it for a few seasons.Steve Beans - Houston Renegades

What? Take a look at that roster again........do you think they will play for free?Originally posted by JeffAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAOriginally posted by JaveI left you with the best possible situation both talent and cap wise
I will live this year, but you can't be serious when you say that.

I told you that drafting a bunch of rookies in the initial draft was going to take a toll. I have a bunch of guys in their prime and they all want to get paid at the same time. Yes, the roster is good, but it's by no means perfect. There are holes in the defense and in other spots.Originally posted by JaveWhat? As good as the line is, they've never really produced. Yet they all want premo dolla. You gave lots of players whatever they wanted - I don't doubt that you never haggled. I think you even mentioned this. Having two wide receivers take up a 1/4 of your payroll is not conveniant. I've also mentioned how crucial it can be to give your rookies the longest contract if possible. I don't remember, but it sure would help if Hamilton was signed for another season. As it is, he is not and he's a free agent next year.
You gave up your 2008 1st rounder for MLB Dennis Gallup. You had Allmon at ILB, but decided to trade for Gallup and put Allmon at SLB where he would lose 93% of his ratings and have a "large" experience drop. Not sure if that is what I would do with a former DPOY.
I'm fine with where the team is, because I can deal with it. But don't make it sound like you left me eating grapes on some exotic Greek island.
FYI, you started 2007 with a 2-3 record. I went 7-6 from there with a playoff victory over Pittsburgh, which shut down Oakland previously (oh snap Biggs!). You do the math, homeboy."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

I agree. Two things however......1. From top to bottom Oakland has the strongest roster in the league. Every team has holes in the roster and due to the cap, it will awalys be that way and 2. I still firmly believe that that team should be able to outscore anyone in the league. The defense is suspect, no dought, however the offense should be juggernaught.I told you that drafting a bunch of rookies in the initial draft was going to take a toll. I did not haggle, however, when you look at the players abilities and then look at what other players around the league are making, what they were asking for was above average, yet not out of line, so giving them what they ask for not only increased their loyalty, but brought up the cohesion rating. As good as the line is, they've never really produced. My plan was to dump Martinez has his production has never matched his ratings. His contract is just about up anyway. If I was to dump him early, then the cohesion rating and loyalty would take a hit as well has having to eat a big chunk of his bonus. I was going to trade him to fill a hole in the defense and start Tessier who has awalys played well.Having two wide receivers take up a 1/4 of your payroll is not conveniant.
Haggling with Hamilton in his rookie year would have set him back. You remember I traded Granger so if Hamilton did not start, I would have had to hunt for some scrub to start. Seems an easy decision to me to pay the guy what he wants, he is one of the best young QB's in the league, started nearly every game in his career, and is just now entering his prime.I don't remember, but it sure would help if Hamilton was signed for another season. As it is, he is not and he's a free agent next year.
Another option I was looking at was using the money in the cap saved from the Martinez trade to free up the cap to sign Hamilton.
Thats still another easy decision. Try getting that kind of value for a great defensive player with that pick. He filled a hole and my plan was actually to move to the 3-4 this season as DT's and DE's are just crazy expensive. Untill the move to the 3-4 Allmon was awalys going to be playing out of position. And, for the record.......Allmon started every game at SLB the year he was DPOTY.You gave up your 2008 1st rounder for MLB Dennis Gallup. I took nearly that exact same team to the big dance the year previous and came within a minute of winning the whole thing.......my math is fine thank you.FYI, you started 2007 with a 2-3 record. Jave, dude.
You blew your wad on a lot of expensive players, didn't win the big one, did nothing but trashtalked like some WWF dude, but couldn't even field 53 guys the next season, then gave up after a few losses. Then you come back here pissing on the owner that decided to clean up your mess?
Puhleeeeeeze!
Blow it out your MasterLordAss.
