Chaplin played like crap, but Beamr made up for it. . . While his 3.09 y/c isn't exactly exciting, 5 catches for 50 yards and 2 rushing TDs are very nice.
Hassler had a nice game to start out his time with the Snipe Hunters. Berard went down, but Excalera stepped up with a sack and two hurries.
Swift started his career quietly with only 3 assists, 2 hurries, and a fumble recovery.
Only real issue I have is QB, again. I wonder if the lack of highend receivers is the problem or is it just Chaplin. He never really recovered from the playoff loss. I am almost afraid to put him up against Booker next week.
My horrible luck with WRs is striking again. Meadows, my third Wide out is out for 4 weeks. So all 3 of the receivers I picked in the 2005 draft have come up lame.2005 AC North Division Champions

Ugh, missed field goal on the last play of the game. Held their running back to 3.1 ypc and Ramos to 1 catch for 2 yards, and then Davidson of all people almost gets a personal season record in receiving yards in a single game.
Penalties (11) and turnovers killed us. All three fumbles in the game were recovered by Madison. I think that if we had recovered just one of them, we would have won, that's how close most of the game was.
In good news, Lansing is on the phone with Doyle McClure.Los Angeles Matadors AC West Champs: 2037

What you should really worry about is that my team stunk and you had to hold on to win in a close one. Scott tossed 3 picks and that didnt even really help you much. You have issues.Originally posted by roadrashChaplin played like crap, but Beamr made up for it. . . While his 3.09 y/c isn't exactly exciting, 5 catches for 50 yards and 2 rushing TDs are very nice.

Colella looked ragged and rusty but we moved the ball fairly well when he wasn't throwing it up for grabs and getting sacked. He'll have better days. As will my guards and centers. Connell was a non-factor. Again, I blame rust.
Can't keep giving the ball back to Hamilton, Bice, Martinez, et al, and expect too many good things to happen.
There were some positives, though.

It is kind of curious why Zack Brown gave my gunner as many handoffs as Connell and Dean combined... we'll have to have a little chat.
In the meantime, I'll be scouting cheerleaders on ESPN2 for the rest of the afternoon like a dirty old man.
