what about the DE at 12?
That's where it comes down to drafting need over the best player. I can justify reaching 6 positions for the top player at a position on my board. I can also justify Beaver because I had him higher on my board than Jamison.

reach- halbert. by far. could've picked him a few more spots down, and even then i dont think he's worth it. his future potential wouldnt put him among the elite and although he has blazing speed, he lacks elite, or even great strength for that matter. personally i had him valued at about the 10-15th pick. a #1 reciever on most teams? yes. an elite reciever? not in my book.

value- ames. wanted to give this to cox, but i have to go with ames. hes the second best talent in the draft (next to crespo of course). i would say by year 3 hes the best safety in the league, if not sooner. the only thing keeping him down is the fact that he is just a safety.

Hell in my scheme Ames would be a star! The one thing about Halbert though, he had blazing speed, and great agility. That points to him being a solid pick at WR. The only sure thing in my opinion at that position in this draft!

Nah, I'd have to play against it twice a year!

solid WR. yeah, solid i can see. but if im picking #2, and gave up 3 1st rounders, i dont want a solid guy, i want a guy who will be the cornerstone of my organization. a franchise qb. a dominating de. a big play, workhorse rb. a huge tackle to defend my qb. hell, even throw in a true shutdown corner. if we're talking about drafting randy moss @ 2, i can see it, but in my eyes this is no randy moss. i just find it risky. fast? yes. but not the complete package. difference of opinion, thats all. man, i love the draft.
