I know this pick is going to have plenty of guys scratching their heads, but the fact of the matter is that Halbert is the cream* of the wide receiver crop. While this particular class was very deep, none of them were as ready to play as him and none of them ran a fricking 4.26(!) 40-yard dash. He's the fastest player in the league already and it's not even close - even though he has a low volatility rating he is possible boom material. Anyone that knows me well enough, should've seen the possibility of this pick. I love offense and I'm fucking nuts!

As for trading this high to get him, I felt there was a good chance he could go as high as #3. If not #3, then #4. Shit, Fresno and Texas could sure use another wideout too.

Adding Mercury gives us some options in the future and it allows us to maintain the deepest receiving corps in the league without any doubt whatsoever. He will probably step right into the #3 receiver role right off the bat. We expect big things from him right away Welcome aboard Mercury Halbert!

Sov must REALLY like Halbert. This is a deep class of WR's, he could have stayed at 28 and gotten a good one, and there were a ton of WR's floating around for to trade for this year.

The more I looked at Halbert the more appealing he was, very quick...good punt and kick returner too. Just knew he wasn't going to be there at #6 which is why I gave it up. This is a good pick. And Crespo was a no brainer. Now...what will Houston do?
