Jave, you should have taken over another team. One that needed rebuilding. What you have done to Portland is bullshit. I guess I just don't understand why you needed to dismantle a team that is one of the favorites every year to win it all. Personally, I think what you have done is detrimental to the league too.

If you wanted to put your own stamp on a team it should have been one that needed one. Rebuilding from scratch is very hard. This team had so much more left in them.

I wish we could roll back a few stages and have a do over and have you removed as the owner. Nothing personal man but you fubar'd that team.

I didn't care too much for Jeffrey but to see what he built up and you tore down in just a couple of days kinda makes me sick.

I wish the commishes would have offered the owner of Oakland now the chance to goto Portland and put you back in Oakland.

            sigh...

This team hadn't even hit its peak yet.

              DOLA

I'm sorry Jave, I defended you here a number of times because you seem to have people skills (which Dakota and Boss lack) but trading the best QB in the league (all-time passer rating, etc.) in his prime would be retarded. Dismantling this team was bad enough, but save some face and don't trade Bauer. There is no draft pick haul that would make that trade worthwhile.

And I'm sorry, but your argument about this team being old doesn't wash. This team was primed for success for a long time to come.

That being said, it's yours now, and I respect your prerogative to change what you see fit. I urge you not to trade Bauer, though. It's crazy.

I respect your opinion my friend and your one of the best owners to ever play this game. But Portland needs a youth movement in the worst way. You can't simply expect a team who's build around 10th-12th year players to lead the team into the future. As is our motto, the future starts today!

Just be patient. While I'm not the best gameplanner around, I'm the best team builder in this league. Patience.

                  And THANKS!
Missed your response about that. He struggle after that year but the Buccs had to give 2 1st to get him too so he didn't have a 1st the next 2 years because of that. That's hard.

But I agree he's a lousy team builder. He always wanted to get old scrap from other teams and try to make it work. (ex. Tim Brown, Charlie Garner, Byron Leftwich, etc..)

I still think without him we don't have a lombardi but we'll never know

Haha, I thought Jester would beat ya to it. As far as team building, I believe I am top 3 then to be fair. You and Jester have me beat in the fact your gameplanning skills balance out your team building, so it masks any poor decisions you make regarding various players. When I make a mistake drafting a guy, it's pretty obvious as in the past I have relied to heavily on my starters and ignored the backup positions. I plan to fix that this time around

Building a good team is one thing. Coaching them to the playoffs is entirely another skill. I stand by my statement.:suicanesmunchies:

Phantoms are too busy team building to get involved in off-season media quarrels. imp:
