Its a fair trade the more I examine it. Like jester said its basically erbaugh, and a 1st for Stickney after Farley retires. Farley is a rare talent at cb but Portland already has a decent secondary plus this will put a dent in their cohesion. Jave gets a rare 9.0 LT "road-grader" and if he stays in the league another 7-8 yrs portland really got hosed...:twisted:

Wow...this was a long thread to work through. a couple of observations.

1. We at Reno like Oakland trading away 1st round picks : )
2. Farley is a good CB when he plays, but he is about at the fall off point in talent for a CB and he has been injured...alot...I thought about trading for him, but no way do I think he's even worth a low first rounder.
3. Owners like Al Davis, aka Jave, make things interesting. You always know where he stands and will always back up his argument with logic...it's not always good logic, but it's good for a quote. He gets crazy over good talent and often loses his head. and will admit when he is wrong and has made a bad decision tho...it may take a year or two to say so.
4. We've all made bad trades. The day commissioners veto trades for dumbness is the day I don't want to be part of this league. If I thought Jave was intentionally sabotaging that would be something else. Not saying this is a bad trade.
5. Smack talk is one thing. Rudeness is something different. Maybe its me getting older but vomiting rants that do nothing to build up the league just show immaturity.
6. Reno has decided it will not make any trades this season to avoid any stupid moves : ) but maybe that's why we langer in mediocrity.

I for one said pass this trade A S A P. I never said veto like others did. but like jave does with my trades over a year ago I figured he deserved a taste of his own meds. I hope he trades away another stud for a 2nd FB so he can run some exotic college formations on offense.

The difference is, I trade to GET talented players, you trade AWAY talented players. So yea, we have different theory's on how to improve our team.
