That was one thing I ended up just getting used to, but whenever I rexed the run direction, Erbaughs side was always a 7-8. The game basically said, don't bother running to his side. With Barton on one side, and Troy on the other, it really opens up the running game giving me considerably more options. Not to even mention Donovan won't be looking over his shoulder for defensive lineman streaking his way. I'm stoked regardless of the opinions of some.

The only thing more ridiculous than calling going from a 60 OVR to a 90+ OVR a slight upgrade is the fact that Jave chose Erbaugh over Stickney in the draft to start all this.

I think it was the following years draft that I read not to pay attention to bars, pay attention to combine scores. I know, I know, some of ya have known that for a L O N G time, but I only figured it out a few seasons ago. Hindsight is 20/20 and Jeff did his homework and schooled me on that pick lol.

He schooled a lot of us on that one. I remember Stickney had perfect combines but a VERY bad pass blocking bar... the bar grew REAL quick!! Stickney/Erbaugh situation is what sold me on combines.

Whatever your thoughts on the value involved, I think the aggression in some of the posts needs to be toned down a little.

This is a game and this is supposed to be a fun enviroment....banter is one thing, personal attacks are another.

Also, I'm not in favour of any Commissioner intervention in a trade unless there are serious doubts as to the integrity of the deal.

Yea, that was a mistake to. It's not like Jester didn't try to warn me to change him BEFORE TC, but I waited and waited and took a big hit on that to. I basically fucked up everything about that pick lol.

I don't think this trade is bad at all. In fact if I'm Portland I don't make it and I sit on one of the league's top overall talents. If Oakland's original 2019 pick is somehow a top 10, which I doubt it will be, then the Seals lose Farley real quick (2-3 seasons at degrading skill level?) and this trade becomes Stickney's career vs Erbaugh and the gamble jeffrey takes with the pick.

The meat of this debate rides on Erbaugh's believed value and the "stats vs bars" argument it seems to me.

Yea, the trade is about how it's worded and I think you did so more realistically. Portland essentially receives a huge drop in ratings in the most important offensive line position, a 2 year rental CB, and a pick likely in the 20-30 range which will net him a possible 50-60 rated player.

If not for the "stats vs bars" argument, which is extremely hard to measure for tackles in general, this is a pretty even trade imo. This trade could do wonders for both Wilson and Donovan.

Maybe I'm biased because I pushed real hard for Stickney as well. Just too hard to pass up a chance for a talent like that, regardless of what his stats say

Shrug, what else does he have? For him the offseason IS the season. If I had his team I would live for draft day as well. Something to look forward to besides getting the crap kicked outta him week in and week out.

I have probably made some lopsided trades. I know Ive done better on a lopsided trade. And worse. But every trade I made, was done with a purpose. 2016.
