INJURY UPDATE

FB Terrence Greeley is finally declared to be 100% and off the injury list while LCB Gary Montiel makes his debut with a severe wrist sprain.

LT Joseph Reynolds is out for 18 weeks with repetitive concussion syndrome.

WLB Brian Minard is out for 5 weeks with a broken ankle.

LCB Gary Montiel is out for 5 weeks with a severe wrist sprain.

RG TJ Doser is questionable for 2 weeks with a pulled groin.

WLB Andre Munoz is questionable for 2 weeks with a hyperextended elbow.

SE Blake Ameche is questionable for 2 weeks with a broken wrist.

RT Don Webb is probable for 2 weeks with reconstructive knee surgery.

SLB Mark Dutra is probable for 1 week with a deep thigh bruise.

FL Dominic Field is probable for 1 week with tonsilitis.

WEEK 10 AFC WEST DIVISION OVERVIEW

Anchorage (9-0)

The Matadors held Lynx running back Chad Richardson to 72 yards rushing, but it still wasn't enough as his two touchdowns helped Anchorage top Albuquerque 24-16. Week eleven has the Lynx visiting the 4-5 Portland Seals for an AFC West match-up.

Albuquerque (5-4)

Is there a QB controversy in Albuquerque? Starting QB David Humphrey was pulled in favor of capable backup Donald Hanks in the fourth quarter. Hanks led the Matadors in their frenzied fourth quarter with 13 unanswered points which made the game closer than it really was. So it could be Hanks in the drivers seat when the the Matadors play host to the 2-7 California Heroes this week.

Portland Seals (4-5)

Jay Caro and the Seals make it four straight as they beat Boston on the road 26-19. Recently acquired free agent receiver, Ricardo Lynn, grabbed two touchdown passes from Caro to go along with his 70 yards receiving. The Seals have their biggest challenge of the season when the undefeated Anchorage Lynx come to town in week eleven led by Seals' killer, QB Leslie Steiner.

California Heroes (2-7)

The Heroes dropped their second game in a row with a 27-10 road loss to the Norfolk Vipers. In week eleven, the Heroes head to Albuquerque for a match-up with the 5-4 Matadors.

WEEK 15 AFC WEST DIVISION OVERVIEW

Anchorage (11-3)

The Lynx have locked up the AFC West, but they are in a three way dogfight for the best record in the conference with Norfolk and Houston after dropping their last two games to Columbia and Albuquerque with starting QB Leslie Steiner on the bench. Week sixteen has the 9-5 Cows from Tulsa visiting and you have to believe that Steiner will make an appearance and salvage Anchorage's top dog status in the AFC.

Albuquerque (8-6)

The Matadors are still fighting for their playoff lives against the likes of Hartford, Boston, Portland, Wichita, and Iowa City. A big win over the Steiner-less Lynx last week was enough to offset the previous week's loss to Tulsa, but the 5-8-1 Toads from Little Rock are coming for a visit and they are no strangers to knocking off playoff teams as their win over Columbia last week proved.

Portland Seals (7-7)

QB Jay Caro has done his best to keep the Seals in the playoff hunt, but their slow start and struggling defense hasn't been easy to overcome. Recent losses to Tulsa and Texas has made the task that much tougher and it's only getting tougher because week 16 has Caro and the Seals visiting the 8-5-1 Columbia Fire. A loss to the Fire would destroy any hopes that the Seals have of making the playoffs.

California Heroes (2-11-1)

It's been a rough season for the Heroes as their 2-11-1 record shows. They've had some bright spots such as rookie RB JB Lincoln and his 800+ yards rushing. The 5-8-1 Trojans from Texas are coming to town with their porous rushing defense and Lincoln and company are chomping at the bit to add to their rushing statistics as well as the win column.
