Internal HD crashed. Windows gone!

Got the new HD in, and it appears to be done right as I was able to "format" it I think.

I can't install an OS though. I might have an issue with my DVD/CD drive but don't have an extra disk lying around to test with.

The disc does nothing when input. Thus my thinking I might now have a disc drive issue.

I just copied some files over to the new HD and opened 1 so I'm figuring (drunkenly) that that solidifies me doing the install right... right?


All this while I hear of the $$ being thrown around right now in FA!!! Phantoms aren't supposed to be behind the curve like this! lol

I realized the Max OS "CD" is actually a DVD, which my internal drive won't read anymore thanks to a firmware update that Apple never fixed.

So I've now got an external CD/DVD reader and have installed the Mac OS on the internal hard drive and am waiting for "Time Machine" backup software to set up for the first time and then I'll be trying to install Windows.

I might make tonight's export. :shoot:

Yeah, I actually ran "VM Ware" before. I figured it would've taken as much effort to reread how to install that as it would to replace the HD. I forgot about my little DVD playing problem.


Good news: I'm now on Windows! I just have to install FOF, which hopefully works with my license after the HD switch, the IFL files, and I'll be ready to go...

I've never been a big FA player. Now that contracts are supposed to be more aggressive on the players' parts I see no reason to change that.

FA was all about donations from the Phantoms this off-season.
