    Internal HD crashed. Windows gone!

    The hard drive inside my iMac stopped working. It's booted a couple of times since it first crapped out on me so I'm hoping to get the files off it with some luck but for now I bought an external HD and the new Mac OS to get by. Unfortunately I just found out that I can't use Boot Camp to install Windows on an external drive!

    So I'm left with no FOF access for an indefinite period of time while I decide what to do.

    They were talking $300's to install a new HD at the Mac store while a new - and far better than my current - iMac starts at $1200.

          I've got an email into eLicense.com to try to get my passcode/whatever to run FOF on my cousin's PC. I go over there almost every Sunday for the NFL and he's been messing with the FOF demo so it should work out until I get Windows running again somehow.

            The white imacs are not impossible to deal with if you have an extra Hard drive. The new silver ones are a fuckin nightmare. If you feel like doing it yourself, drop me a PM. I can help.

              Thanks, CRex. In general I definitely like doing things myself to save the $$$. I'll take a look at some HD prices while deciding what to do.

                  I'm on the old hard drive now, at least the Mac side of things. I'm copying over all the files I see to my new external drive. This will make the switch to a new internal drive merely a financial set-back and increase the chances of it happening sooner rather than later.

                    So for now I'm gonna just keep the old drive and hope that I can get Windows to boot often enough.

                      Got a 500GB 3.5" drive and am heading to my friend's to try to install it. Hopefully it's the right kind and I'm up and running in time to get an export in for FA2.

                              Fucking Mac's...that's exactly why I hate them. Apple thinks they are so elite...I just think there overhyped, overpriced and overblown.
