    Trade #1

    1B Gil Hodges 37 (77) making $9 Million
    2B Don Zimmer 31 (79) making $17 Million
SS Felix Mantilla 27 (85) making $6.5 Million
CF Richie Ashburn 35 (72) making $10 Million
    2B Ron Hunt 21 (66/85)
    RP Steve Dillon 19 (47/79)

    To Boston for

    LF Mike Derrick 18 (62/85)
    SP Chet Nichols 31 (73/73)

We ship over $43 Million in salary in the aging vets who are all still productive.
Mantilla, Hunt & Dillon are all decent prospects themselves but
needed to be in the deal to get any offers back.
Derrick has some nice potential and Nichols isn't awfull,
    so it's a nice start.

    Trade #2

    2B Charlie Neal 31 (79) making $11 Million
LF Frank Thomas 32 (73) making $21 Million
    C John Stephenson 20 (62/66)
    LF Danny Napoleon 20 (62/66)
    LF Cleon Jones 19 (70/85)

    To Chicago White Sox for

SP Early Wynn 42 (72) making $4 Million
RP Turk Lown 37 (76) making $2.6 Million

Wynn and Lown are both adaquete for a pitching staff that just wants to eat innings. Didn't like giving up Jones but we got rid of over $25 Million in salary so it was worth it.

    Trade #3

    C Harry Chitti 29 (72)
    1B Jim Marshall 30 (71)
    C Joel Ginsberg 35 (70)
    1B Dick Smith 22 (64/74)

    To Chicago White Sox for

    SP Frank Bauman 28 (75/75)

We have a surplus of Catchers and 1st Basemen, and Baumen is a 28 year old 75/75 Pitcher who can step right into the rotation. This also saves us about $5 Million more in salary.

    Trade #4

SP Roger Craig 32 (81) making $4.5 Million.
RP Clem Labine 35 (77) making $8.3 Million.

    To Los Angeles Dodgers for

    RP Ed Roebuck 30 (72)

$12 Million more in salary gone. Hallelujah.

    Trade #5

LF Gus Bell 33 (80) making $9 Million.
    SP Billy Wynn 18 (47/77)
    SP Dennis Musgraves 18 (60/72)
    RP Darrell Sutherland 20 (66/73)
    RP Al Schmelz 18 (63/77)

    To Phillies for

    SP Dallas Green 27 (66/76)
    SS Bobby Wine 23 (70/78)

Gets rid of 1 big contract and 4 useless minors fillers for a couple of midling guys, Wine may even start at SS for us.
    I luv British womenz.

This is an absurdly bad team that will be taking the field every day. CF Hickman has a chance to last with us for a bit and Herrscher may also get that oppurtunity but in reality these are all placeholder bums.
    I luv British womenz.

Koosman is clearly the ace of the staff and a future stud. Al Jackson has the potential to be a solid #2 or #3 guy. The rest of the starters are middling filler.

The bullpen is a mess. The 2 backend guys have a slight bit of potential and I hope they develop but really, this is just awfull man.
      I luv British womenz.

lol. My payroll budget is $133 Million and my payroll is only $33 Million. I should be in the red for a few years to build up my cash and procipicate some future spending.

                  No sir you may not!

lol. 27 games into the season we're 18 games out. Our ERA is 3.75 which is very solid and shows you just how bad a lineup this team has. Joe Christopher and Bobby Wine are the only 2 guys hitting over .250. Oh my.

Also, the future of my franchise, Jerry Koosman, has a broken arm and will miss about 4 months. Chet Nichols has a broken leg and will miss about the same amount of time. 2/5ths of my staff is gone, oh noes.

At the end of June we sit at 14-44
Rich Herrscher, who's played decently off the bench has torn his rotator cuff and is out till the middle of next year.
Ed Bouchee's .261 and 4 HR lead us. ooofah.

We finish the season an impressive 42-120, a full 57 games behind the Dodgers. Oh my.

                    On to 1963 we go.

                    Amateur Draft

Oh man oh man, it's time for the amatuer draft. Seaver and Carlton are here, both nearly ready to dominate at the major league level. In the end i've gotta go with Carlton though, i'm a Philly guy, what can I say?

                    Code:
                    Round #1- SP Steve Carlton	18 (73/96)
                    Round #2- SP Steve Renko	18	(44/91)
                    Round #3- SS Bud Harrelson	18	(42/87)
                    Round #4- SP Larry Jaster 19	(44/87)
                    Round #5- 2B Tony LaRussa	18	(43/73)
                    Round #6- 1B Gene Stone 19	(46/68)

                      Contract Dilly Dally Dafodils

We sign 1B Ed Bouchee to a 3 year deal worth $2M per.

1B Rick Herrscher lost some luster playing off the bench last year, probably should have let him play all year at AAA. Eh, like it matters.

2B Eli Chacon was signed to a 1 year deal worth almost $2 Million. He'll probably come off the bench this year though.

                      More later I suppose.

You should name one of your players 'Tim Austin'. He could bat .250 and play solid defense.

Man, Mogul does a good job of outputting stats in a nice way but a transactions list is a bitch, and i'm not writing down everytime I release a guy or make an extension.

Ughhh, CF Shaun Fitzmaurice lost about 10/15 off his ratings. The young ballplayer, such a tender thing.
With Herrscher out with a torn rotator cuff we go into the past and sign Gil Hodges, he'll play 1B against lefties.

Well, we have an almost adaquete lineup vs lefties, we are gonna get killed day in and day out though.
Our bullpen is a little bit better with some maturation but the big decision was Koosman. His current ratings dropped after his injury but i'm gonna keep him at the major league level, I hope he doesn't nosedive and even if he sucks his ratings still start an upswing.

Our budget this year was $80 Million, our payroll is $23 Million. I've upped all of our expenses to about $20 Million, we rank first in medical, scouting and farm system now, which is the reason for the lower payroll budget.

13-20 on May 7th, not bad.

                              28-38 on June 18th.

We get offered a young OF from the Twins by the name of Pat Kelly. He's 18 (56/89), they want Eli Chacon in return. Eff it man, take him off my hands. I put Kelly in Rookie ball and call up SS Al Moran from AAA to come off the bench, taking Chacons spot.

40-58 On July 26th 20 games back but 3 games ahead of the Phillies, lol.

48-75 on August 25th. Down the stretch we come!

Arghhhh, we lost 9 out of 10 to close the season at 60-102, last in the NL. booooo. But how about this, our team ERA was 4.10 on the year, a step in right direction. Our team BA was .222, a step off the cliff.
