You guys want a good example of what I mean when I say bars and ratings dont always mean anything you gotta look beyond those into how they actually play on the field. Look at 49/49 rated RB who starts in Dakota. The years he has had and the one he is having so far this year.

His bars remind me of my RB in the CCFL, Jessie Byrum. I love the combination of big bars in Hole Recognition and Elusiveness.

I was hoping someone could answer a few questions a have regarding the game

        1. How do you see the League scouting report? I would like to compare it to what my scouts think of players.

        2. Tired player. What happens when they get tired? Does tired become exhausted? I'm assuming benching them for a game works just fine?

          Armicking,

I could be wrong, but what shows up on your roster is sortof...what the league thinks of your player. Although...I think this has been known to change from team to team as well. But when you open your player profile and click on the ratings you will get your dynamic scout impressions--with history! one of the best inventions of FOF Seven. I don't think there is anyway of seeing any other ratings.

In regard to tired players you might want to check your "playing time" button at the bottom right of your roster screen. You can adjust how much starters play. You also need to check if you are using them in too many formations and not really allowing them to sit. Adjusting this is always better than benching them for the entire game, and they should recover. Also if you think you can do it, you can use them as a back up instead of inactivating them. One more thing, when you are developing your roster, be ever aware of your player's endurance ratings. Having a stud with low endurance is a big waste, as opposed to a blitzing WLB specialist who is only going to play in dime blitz packages.

Others are probably a lot more savvy on this, but that's my take.

I'm still new to FoF, but I tend to research and learn as much as possible, so I can answer that question for you Armicking. Argot.. you read this too

When you view a player report, the scouted rating number in the middle of the screen is your personal scouts rating. Also, the scouted numbers and bars on the right side of the screen are your personal scouts ratings. We know this because when pressing F1 while on the player report, the help file says:

The player information screen also shows your scout's view of the specific strengths and weaknesses of this player. The scouting report consists of a series of bars corresponding to each ability rating. Players are scouted for each ability relevant to their position. The red portion of the rating bar indicates your scout's assessment of the player's current ability. The green portion of the rating bar indicates your scout's assessment of the player's future potential. The red portion of the scouting bar refers to your scout's assessment of the player's current expertise in the selected attribute. The green portion of the scouting bar refers to your scout's assessment of the player's future potential in that attribute.
Now when you click on the scouting bar it will pull up the ratings history, along with the scout that did the rating. Reading the bottom of that screen you will see:

Each year, a venerable and respected coach is hired to direct a scouting effort for the entire league. This is done both before training camp and after week two of the exhibition season. Players are scouted for future potential in each attribute. A future and current overall rating is also provided.
When pressing F1 on the screen, the help file reads:

The scouting is viewed through the eyes of a venerable staff member who is not currently employed by a team. This scout may change from time to time as staff members age just as players age.
Therefore, the ratings on the player report are your scouts ratings, and when clicking the scouting bar that will show the league scouts ratings for that player.

Thank you Argot and Beast!! Reading through the help files is something I definitely overlooked! I wasn't around at the start of the league year so I'm trying to figure out where my scouts are as far as accuracy or there opinions versus my own.

BTW, the scout rating of the league "venerable and respected scout" generally sucks (guess I need more respect for the old geezer!!!). The current league scout for the IFL is Leroy Francis, who has a rating less than 25. Most team scouts are much better. Use the league ratings, especially for young players, with a lot of skepticism.

Portland's scout ratings are outstanding: OC Lester Montgomery is 83, DC Jake Lentz is 77.

You can view the coach information in the staff.csv file found in the leaguedata folder. You would need to use the Export Data option under the Almanac panel to create the .csv files.
