Pretty big game in the NC West between Vancouver and SLC this week. Always a bit of a cat-and-mouse game between Vito and I. Not sure how far I should go defending the run, 'cause Patterson has proven he can make you pay. After the drubbing I took at home from a pretty bad Tulsa team I have no expectations - just hoping the rolls go my way.

...and then there were none. St. Louis puts a whuppin' on us with a blitzkrieg in the 1st quarter that we never recovered from. Our normally efficient D didn't do more than open the door for a couple of drives early that set the tone for the game. We were forced into things offensively that we don't do, and before you know it- we're down 14-0. Also, that Archer D is better than I thought, and they played extremely well- not allowing us a TD. We gotta get right by next week cause Murfreesboro is no joke, as shown by them dropping 51 on Fresno- and that wasn't the impressive part. That D was a beast. I hope they got it out of their system.
GG Hooper, your boys deserved it.

In back to back weeks Troutman has been 1 and 2 for Mules all time pass completions in a single game. And the Mules had a HoF QB, 'Opie' Peterson, for like 15 years.

To say the Mules are on a roll is an understatement.

In years past I have had many teams peak to soon and crash at the end of the season.

Oh well you hope to play in meaningful ballgames. Mules hosting the Deamon Deacons for 1st place in the AFCS is as big as it gets in the middle of the season.

Mules get a bye week then second half of season is 6 of 8 on the road

We started sluggishly versus Columbia and by the time we got some steam up, the Fire were able to slow the game down with game manager Gurley avoiding errors and RB Hanks moving the chains.

GG David, that was a great game plan you put together. You did a fine job on my guys.
You've had some close games and could easily be sitting on top of your division.
Prediction: This year or next the Fire will be a playoff team.

GG Bottle. Yeah our D is ok. Our offense is a hodgepodge of crap though. Thus our winning every other week and our .500 record.

Big upset win for the Marauders as we whoop up on the Green Mountaineer Boys of Vermont. Did not see that one coming.

GG Vermont! We have signs of life!

gg Vito. Unfortunately for the Stallions the first turnover of the game was a killer. Mahe played a nearly flawless game.

              Until our next encounter....

I obviously have no idea what I'm doing. We shouldn't be struggling this much. GG Georgia

Those route running TEs are proving to be the weakness of my D-scheme -- We covered them all game (LMAO) while the WRs were the threats.

We gotta put Mahe on his back b/c that dude is a beast if you give him time to pick you you apart.

That's GEO for you + REX giving him the extra juice. They stay healthy and we're all going to watch a robot win it all.

GG Dakota. I was worried about stopping your air attack. I think we got lucky on this one.

We win a rather ugly game against Iowa City 17-9 even though they had about 80 yards more on offense than we did. We struggled to run the ball and averaged only 1.57 yards per attempt! The key stat of the game may have been Iowa City only completing 3/14 3rd down attempts while we were a more respectable 7/18.

The key play of the game was S Cornelius Barber's interception and 42 yard return for a TD late in the 4th. Norfolk QB Grant Bechtel had a solid game going 22/33 for 209 yards and a TD but was also sacked 3 times (2 by DT Ricky Chopper). Meanwhile, Iowa City's QB Grant Toviessi was mediocre going 21/41 for 180 yards and an INT (52.9 QBR).

Maybe the best players for each team were the punters? Our Craig Stuckey punted 9 times for a 50.9 average and 45.4 net with 5 inside the 20 (long of 62) and was probably bested by their B.J. Laskey who punted 6 times for 53.8 yards and a net of 48.3 with 4 inside the 20 and a long of 71!

Tough Loss Sammage! This could have easily gone your way!

GG Argot. Does it feel better to at least lose to a human GM?

Since taking over the team we've got our first win, upgraded our O - line through a trade and have started upgrading special teams. Our long snapper was a 0!

Certainly loving the situation I've walked into.
