HUGE early season matchup in the NC South. Texas pays a visit. That team is on the rise and will present a stiff challenge for the Tigerhawks.
We get Andrews back. He was not on the depth chart the last couple games. He did get some touches for some reason. But that all changes this week.

This is a big game for us. Montreal is coming off a big win versus our division rivals, and they are in a dogfight in the north. A loss here would completely nullify the progress made last week, and a win would give some nice breathing room in the south.
Needless to say, we are not taking this game lightly.Steve Beans - Houston Renegades

What a crazy game. Not sure if it was a defensive battle or a poor showing by the offenses.
But we will take it.
It was crazy all the way through. Back to back to back to back picks in the 1st quarter. 2 by each QB.
At the end of the 4th we were ahead 17-14 after Texas marched down the field and scored with 3:31 left in the game. All we needed to do is run out the clock.
So we decide to pass from our 20 on the 1st play. Sack. 2nd and 22 on our 8. 2 runs for 0 yards and its time to put.
Texas blocks our punt and recovers on our 2. They score a TD with 1:36 left. Texas now up 21-17. Grumble, grumble.
Start from our 20. Sack.
Then a 21 yard completion to Farrell. 1st down! Unsportsmanlike penalty. 1st and 10 on our 20 again. 1:05 left.
25 yard completion to Rhinehart. That goes out of bounds. Woot.
55 yard TD reception by Sam Farrell. 54 yards of YAC. We go up 24-21 and thats the game.
Farrell definitely worth that 1st and 2nd today.IFL Champions-- 2016

We had solid play again today, though not sure if it was that we looked good or OAK is just not good. I'll take the latter on this I think
Overall, I'm pleased thus far. Should have started Travis Kennedy in week 1. Love when I over think things!!NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

Stallions present our toughest challenge of the season thus far but the Propane-less Phantoms Phound a way to pull out the Dubya. Great game, Vito!! Stingiest defense we've faced in 2023.
How 'bout that NC East!!??!!?!!

(time to channel my inner Belichick)
Firebirds came out with a ton of steam, and our team played back on their heels. Made a lot of early mistakes which Montreal capitalized on. We knew coming into the week that it wasn't going to be an easy game, but I think the team had more confidence than it should have.
Montreal showed why they were tied for first in that division, despite a weakened roster recently. They play with a lot of heart, and will give many teams problems the rest of the way.
I am happy we were able to come back and pull off the win. Lake had a great game against his former club, but we had far too many mistakes early on which nearly cost us the win.
*reporter* Is your team going to relax knowing the Cards are 1-4 going into the game this week?
Is this a serious question? You can't gauge how that team stacks up compared to it's record. They still have Swift out there, they still have Rocco and Puppe at the corners and two young talented safeties. I don't care if they are 0-15 heading into the week, this is by no means an easy game and it's absolutely ridiculous to even hint at that.
With Bruce Berry on their offense, they're always one play away from a quick 6, and that defense can stop the best offenses in the league.
I don't care what their record game. A divisional game is always important and being on the road is always tough.
Enough with the silly questions. Good game to Montreal, and good luck with your rebuilding project. With offensive outbursts like that, the future looks bright.Steve Beans - Houston Renegades
