I like the way we started with May...didn't like the way our defense finished.

gave Schwartz the day off and the O did exactly nothing. D held up till late then gave up like 20 straight points to lose in OT

Your team has some fine offensive weapons.

ya, i was thinking about the way we handle preseason and thought it might be worth it to bring it up again.

some people prefer to just have
              midweek
              preseason games 1-3
              preseason games 4-5

this is run with injuries off.

the other train of thought is to run things and keep it as is for some realism. We've had the discussion before and option 2 always won out.

I'm open to suggestions if people would be interested in changing.

I'd love that scenario, especially the injuries off part. Pre-season to me is just get through without injuries while making sure starters don't get rusty.

                  It's an annoying balance.

I'm on the fence about this. While at times I get bored with the monotony of preseason games, in rebuilding years it gives you time to analyze your team after the draft and LFA, look for possible holes or weaknesses, rearrange your roster, make trades and test gameplans.
I wouldn't oppose a majority vote, but I probably would vote to retain the current "one a day" schedule we have this year.

In rebuilding years, people typically have the entire season to do the same.

The pros far outweigh the cons in Matt's suggestion. You can still do everything the same, the only difference are the small tweaks that happen before games 2 and 4.

Honestly with injuries off, you can do better gameplan testing anyway for these reasons...

                      - Injuries probably result in 75-95% of the reason people need a mid-week free agency because trades and signings rarely happen this time of the year. Plus, for those who do actually make a preseason trade, you still get half an injury-free preseason to plug in those players.

                      - No injuries opens up many doors to allow you to test your rookies or starters for various situations in gameplanning like:
-- Start your rookies for 2 full games then your starters for the last two to shake off rust
-- Give players a 50/50 split throughout the entire preseason
-- For those not rebuilding, keep your starters in the entire preseason so you can tweak gameplans against other starters from non rebuilding teams, all worry free.

In a game where you can't actually sit on the sidelines and monitor the 'rust' level of your starting QB, or make real time decisions to get people out when they're clearly spent, injury-free preseason makes the most sense. And if we're doing injury-free, may as well speed it up into two sims versus five.

We should do a poll for next season and see what the league thinks about it.

Wouldn't be in favor of turning injuries off in any situation. We cant get more double game weeks because some people want the slow pace of this league. but these same people dont have patience to wait 1 week to finish 5 preseason weeks? lol wtf.

I must admit I’m having some concerns on what is being posted since joining this league. It is my understanding that it was designed as a slow league for those who have a full schedule in their lives. If you want a faster league why not join one?

Why turn off injuries in preseason? Injuries are a huge part of the game, here and in RL. The skill a GM has in managing around a season ending injury with a salary cap is THE difference many times in a team being good or an also-ran. Just my two cents but for those of you in such a hurry you are missing/skipping over some of the details FOF has to offer in managing a team.

I like the pace, and the league. I'm copacetic with the way it is. Changes.... I wouldn't leave the league for changes.

Inept management of the Matadors... that might make me leave.

If I've got the time to pay attention, I change up my gameplan every game in pre-season and like to try things I never would in the regular season without some pre-season data to back it up.

I also think that injuries, while sucking for us when it happens, are part of roster management and part of the strategy of the game.

the only argument i would pose is that the preseason is pretty useless, other than attributing rust and injuries.
the reality is, we like to think seeing that undrafted RFA do well in his spot duty makes us feel good
                                BUT
these are just dice rolls and really don't mean anything.

I'm ok playing either way. it saves a few days if we speed up. If we don't, it still allows a breather before the season.
