Only saw the box and score. Looks like the Cursade went into Fresno playing too win. But Fresnos Schwartz apparently did enough.

GG ukpatfan. We were able to shut down Diedritch or this would've been a shootout.
We were unable to shut down the Perkins - Vaughn show and the Outlaws were reminded we're not the finished article yet.
Yet more road games to follow and need to stay in touch.sigpic

Iowa City had less than 100 yards of total offense with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. They finished with 10 completions and 4 interceptions, at one point I think the ratio was 4/3. I'll take the win but the rain clearly effed both teams up as we combined for 7 picks.
I need to sail my ship of fools into the sea of victory next week and ride a wave of wins cause i can't keep doing this 1 win, 1 loss shit forever.I luv British womenz.

Congrats Reno - not only won but won big!

Everytime I 'tweak' during the season the results are a disaster.
Other GMs
Gameplanning:
- Do you set and forget it on offense/defense OR do you gameplan for each opponent?
- If you tweak the plan are you able to make big changes? i.e., you're 55/40/5 on first down wk1 but switch to 30/45/25 wk2 to attack a weakness in an opponent.
- Do you think cohesion plays a role here?

2) I'll go from 50/50/0/0 to 0/0/0/100 if the game dictates it. I also don't think +/- 10 or so percentage points will even offset the difference in "dice rolls" in a given game so only big changes are effective. When GMs bump their gameplans 3-5% and such they're only seeing the different results of randomness, not an actual 3% change in control. 25/25/25/25 and 15/15/35/35 could very well yield the exact same plays/results after a single game's data.
3) I think cohesion plays a role as far as the players being on your team. Doubt it has anything to do with the gameplanning %'s though.
BTW - The worst example of the wrong gameplan was in DH's record breaking season. I went into the game focused entirely on the pass from a previous game (no export) and DH ran for 250+ and 5 TDs. I'll never get over that.

1. Without question, every week there is an adjusment made on both sides of the ball. Much of an adjustment would be based on an injury to one of my players but more of it is my thoughts on the core competenices of the other team.
At the beginning of the season, I develop three base plans for each side of the ball per the strategies that I want to use that year. Each plan (one for run heavy, one for balanced, one for pass heavy) includes specific personnel assignments. These base plans are modified as the season wears on and are usually pretty well develped by mid season.
Every week, I start with two of these base plans (OFF and DEF) and then modify a little based on what I said in above.
2. Using Jester's model of going from a 25-25-25-25- to a 15-15-35-35 in any one week ... I can see myself making this change ... a 10 point change on a base of 25 is a 40% swing and I think that would mae a difference. As for an "all-in" position of 50-50-0-0 (against the run) or 0-0-0-100 (against the pass) ... I have never tried those positions and do not have the balls to start now!
3. Cohesion ... I don't think it affects gameplanning but is more a factor in execution.

1. I set up an offense after TC when I know what my QBs formations are... I use the formations that put my best 11 guys on the field and use them pretty much exclusively. Then I'll set up the offense to use those guys to the best of their ability. (i.e. good RB, I run more; GD recievers, then short pass; BP receivers, then long pass) I generally don't tweak much on offense unless I am playing a team that shuts down whatever offense I am running.
On defense I tweak much more. I will spend a good amount of time defensive gameplanning for my opponent...Picking the weakest offensive lineman to blitz, stopping whatever their strength is, etc.
2. I don't change more than 10% when I tweak my gameplans, and I rarely have any percentage set for more than 65%
3. Cohesion is extremely important for choosing which formations to use. You want your longest tenured guys on the field as much as possible. So choose carefully how much you use dime if your dime back is a rookie, for example.

Cohesion is more important than anything on defense. I would, have and am starting 37 rated players over 60 rated ones in order to maximize cohesion. Look at my secondary. I have a 59 rated corner on the bench cause he is only a third year pro.
Cohesion makes your gameplan settings more potent, more meaningful, probably because it allows your players to play closer to its full potential. If you are having problems getting your defense to play well, this could be the reason.
Just to give an example, I lost my starting longtime free safety Snodgrass for a few weeks. My secondary was horrible. He returned last week against norfolk, and my pass defense played great again with three picks and holding his top receiver to 5 catches, 49 yards and a TD. The receiver had 17 targets. I call that a win. I feel I would have been torched without my saftey in there.Two-time IFL Champion (2014, 2015)
