Terror Caro was absolutely BEAST today and I damn near lost anyway by not sitting on a lead late in the 4th. Lesson learned

The "Grant Csonka Experiment" is still looking good on the field--the RB turned WR hauled in 7 catches for 137 yds and his 3rd TD on the season---I'm in love

Ouch. That one hurt my pride. The guy we double covered had 9 catches and 4 TDs. I'm almost having a Brad Childress moment, where I say "Trade all these bums" and then get fired, lol

It's kind of frustrating to watch your team drive 80 yards down the field on their first two drives, only to settle for FGs. We played very well offensively and defensively, save for a 70 yard play by Dakota. I really like how well Harding is playing right now.

Pick 6, a 3rd down penalty on a TD drive and "the defense looked familiar with the play" in the 3rd qtr and I had to shut it down. I was shocked to see my team scored 14 in the 4th but no clue how they did it. This season is quickly getting frustrating, need to snap out of it next week in a very important game.

GG Norfolk. It's been a rough start for us. Teams just don't win games in which they turn it over 4 times.

                GG Hartford,

Wichita go down to a close loss 20-23 but in truth Hartford deserved a larger margin of victory.

I'm pleased because Ouellette continues to show great promise with another 100 plus QB rating.

You are so right ... despite the score, stats are surprising close for both teams, except for the turnovers.

The Seals record definitely is better than its current record. I was very happy to cash in on some early turnovers and was estatic to keep your opening drive to a FG. I have had a few great goal line stands this year. Whatever I have in my game plan I am not changing the goal line part.

We both lost our starting centers ... which sucks.

I thought the Vipers would be able to play ball this year but the start has been aeven better than expected. What a very pleasant surprise considering we have faced WV, Pennsylvania and now Portland.

Now to St. Louis ... can't drop the focus now ... as it looks like the AC East will produce another bloodbath for the division championship once again. Glad to have gotten 1/2 of the WV-Norfolk series already under the belt.

I am not sure there is going to be a dominant team this year from either conference. There are A LOT of good teams on both sides of the fence to go around.

This should produce some great match ups every week ... with both Tulsa and Newark losing, the stakes in their game next weekend is huge!

To expound upon my game a little more...

Oakland's first score was a painful one. One of those quirky plays
Oakland: Strong formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 with nickel personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the pass.
2-12-OAK46 (1Q: 12:55) Stephen Scott pass completed to WR David Thomason for 6 yards. Tackled by CB Juan Carlisle. Thomason gained 5 yards after the catch. The quarterback threw into double coverage. The ball was fumbled and recovered by OAK Joe Gregoire for 48 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Oakland 6, Newark 0

force a fumble, to only have anyother WR pick it up and score a TD. baahhhhhh!!

                        Later....
at the end of the 1st half, we are working our way down the field. 1st and goal at the 1.....sack, sack, scramble. Ya, that sounds like a Newark Bulldogs offense when 1st and goal at the 1! lol
Newark: Weak formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and weak-side man, otherwise cover-7 zone coverage, expecting the pass. Bell and Hinson are blitzing.
1-1-OAK01 (2Q: 01:06) Dwight Burger sacked by DE Rickey Doyle for a loss of 6 yards. Sack allowed by Amos Bailey.
Newark: Single-Back formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 and weak-side man, otherwise cover-7 zone coverage, keying aggressively on the run.
2-7-OAK07 (2Q: 00:46) Dwight Burger sacked by DT Bucky Summers for a loss of 7 yards. Sack allowed by Kurt Bensen.
                        Newark called a time out.
Newark: Single-Back formation with four receivers, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 3-deep zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass. Bell and Hawkins are blitzing.
3-14-OAK14 (2Q: 00:38) Dwight Burger scrambled for 5 yards. Tackled by CB Omar Navarro and assisted by S Conrad de Marco.
                        Newark called a time out.
                        4-9-OAK09 (2Q: 00:28) Butch Schulz attempted a 26 yard field goal and succeeded. Oakland 17, Newark 13

So instead of going in tied, we are trailing by 4.

                        Later......
after we score a TD, Oakland eventually responds with one of their own. Ensuring kickoff and subsequent play
(3Q: 04:53) Extra point by Cornell Burgess was good. Oakland 24, Newark 20
(3Q: 04:42) Cornell Burgess kicked off 64 yards from the OAK30. Craig Hampton returned the ball 36 yards to the NWK42. Tackled by Scottie Kirk.
Newark: Weak formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-10-NWK42 (3Q: 04:12) King Burger pass completed to WR Jessie Lucas for 52 yards. Tackled by CB Heath Borum. Lucas gained 45 yards after the catch. The quarterback threw away from the double coverage. The ball was fumbled and recovered by OAK Conrad de Marco on the OAK06.

pass play down to their 6 yard line and we lose a fumble. bahhhhh. could've been a difference maker to get points in this trip

later in the game. We get the ball back.

I looked at the clock when we got the ball. we were up and had the ball with 8:10 left in the game. I was thinking that we would effectively run the clock out here.

We go for the jugular, and go deep.
Newark: Single-Back formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 and 1-deep, man-to-man coverage, expecting the run. Borders is blitzing.
1-10-NWK24 (4Q: 08:10) Brian Campbell ran inside the left guard for 2 yards. Tackled by S Conrad de Marco.
Newark: Weak formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 2-deep bump-and-run coverage, expecting the pass. Shinkle is blitzing.
2-8-NWK26 (4Q: 07:41) Dwight Burger pass was intended for WR Jose Hoover and was intercepted by CB Omar Navarro at the NWK49. The interception was returned 45 yards. Tackled by Jose Hoover. The quarterback threw away from the double coverage.

We throw a pick. It's returned 45 yards and the next play, Wilson scores a rushing TD to put OAK up 31-27.
                        what another turn of events!!!

we then couldn't do anything with the ball or stop Oakland from running out the clock. I thought we held Wilson in check most of the game. Including that carry for the TD he went 8 carries for 50yds to finish out the game. Brutal defense down the stretch.

Good one Jave. I think you've got the perfect QB there. Hopefully we'll be able to meet again and I'll be afforded another opportunity.

Rain drenched field leads to ugly play by LA, but the Matadors win another on the road. Sui keeps his teams close, and this one wasn't any different. And the injury bug continues hitting our tight ends...seems to attack position groups like that on my teams... and our second tight end is hurt. We need the tight ends for their run blocking AND pass catching.

I was disappointed in our qb play..in a run heavy offense he wanted to throw more than I liked, and the first half we suffered for his decisions. Mallard misses another hundred yard game by one yard.

                          GG Sui...

WOW, What a key win. This win was crucial. My teams pulls together after the loss of Horace Donovan for yet ANOTHER year and with only a few days under his belt in Oakland, Scott puts together a 15/22 226yd 2 touchdown performance.

A few notes from the game:
LDT Leonard Wingfield was a complete nuisance, disrupting ever other play. He's finally starting to play like the 1st overall pick.

FL Winston Stuartmay be ready to start. He has played strong every game this year and was key in todays win.

RB Gary "The Situation" Jamison hasn't lost a single step. We couldn't stop him.

Newark is MASTERFUL on 3rd down. I couldn't stop him.
                            3rd Down Conversions11/14
Thank you FL Jessie Lucas for that fumble after the 52yd run. That was the key play of the game. Leading 24-20 late in the 3rd quarter if you had scored there, you win the game.

RCB Omar Navarro saves yet another scoring drive in the 4th quarter with a
key interception and 45 yard return.QB Dwight "King" Burger doesn't make many mistakes, but that one was huge!

It was another war between our two clubs Matt. Ya got the one last year, it was my turn this year! haha.

Now we travel to Dakota to shove my foot up DG's shit talking ass and pummel his crap team. Vito looks alive and well this year...WTF? Are the Stallions back?

ARGGH!!! GG Jester. I really thought I had you. and...we almost got that kick return you promised. McNeil managed things well in the first half and had a number of recievers drop 3rd down passes. Just beat by a better team but thought I had a chance to steal one on our home field. I hate Shake and Bake.
