A good win this week keeps us in the wild card hunt. If we can get 27 points each week with our defense I think we can get a win streak going.

Wierd, QB Conway was inactive for some strange reason and veteran Alvin Mann got the start.

To a large degree, the Pirates outplayed the Outlaws and won most of the stat battles.

The crucial difference was the big play potential of the Wichita D.
Rookies LB Bean, FS Romine and stud DE Nece, all made big plays which kept us in front.
I just love a D that steps up!

      Well played Orlando, unlucky loss.

        GG Chris.
We've been very fortunate this season with Burger's ability to pass the ball downfield. I consider this win very important. I think that Montreal is a great team. This game changes nothing in that regards.

            GREAT game, Mike17!!

This week's matchup had heartbreak after heartbreak for the Phantoms and ironically ended in such fashion for Cleveland!

Phantoms are now running an 8 game winning streak and a 12 home-game winning streak... If it weren't for those dang kids over in Newark I'd be getting away with the division too!

Corey Perkins throws three picks in the first half and fumbles once which got returned for a touchdown. Even with all that, we were still up 24-20 with 1:15 to go. That last minute drive we couldn't stop anything and they marched down for a score with twenty seconds left.

This game absolutely broke my heart into a million pieces.

It was a great one to watch though. GG Lawrence.

Fresno runs for -5 yards against pass D on first play from scrimmage, which leads to another blocked punt from rookie Foley, which Georgia converts to a FG. FWIW Georgia ran for 8 yards against Warthog pass D on their first play from scrimmage.
On Fresno's next drive Chapman and Schwartz each recomver their own fumbles, a sign of things too come for the Warthogs. Harding hurt his tricep, but still lead Generals to FG range, but the FGA was shanked still 3-0 Generals. Georgia had Fresno stopped, but the Warthogs got some home cookin' on an unsportsman like conduct penatly that extended the FG drive to tie the game at 3. Georgias drive stalls, but the punt puts Fresno at their own 2. Fresno's rookie WR O'Neal joins the fun and recovers his own fumble on a FG drive that puts the Warthogs up 6-3. Gerogia gets a 2 min FG drive to tie the game 6-6 at the half.
Generals WR Harris sprints 70 YAC yards for a Georgia 13-6 lead on first posession of 2nd half. Schwartz to Roche to tie the game at 13 early 3Q. But the Generals dominated from this point on scoring the last 17 points of the game for a convincing 30-13 road win in Fresno.

Warthogs still only 1 game out of WC, but there are like 7 teams fighting for that 6th spot

Oh man, close game. This season is going to give me heart problem. Take a look at these scores..

                    L 14-15
                    W 33-30
                    L 17-21
                    W 34-31
                    L 21-23
                    L 16-17
                    W 9-7
                    W 21-17

8 of my 11 games have been decided by around a FG or less, which is pretty ironic because this year i'd rather go for it more on 4th instead of kicking FG's (although it didn't really work well because of how the game code is. I'd rather have more control over going for it by the position of the field and how close I am to 1st down instead of whether or not i'm leading by 3 or 4)

Anyway, GG Lansing. I can't believe i'm still in the hunt with only 1 road game to go in the season.

Can't say that the first start for Bryan McNeil won this game for us. Despite the blowout numbers, this game was still in the balance well into the 3rd quarter. This is more about Norfolk penalties that lost the game for them. Then turnovers late that led to the blow out.

We feel lucky consider that McNeil was 0-9 before making his first completion. Hopefully this was a rust game and next week he can show us why he was a first round pick 4 years ago.
