Good game, Norfolk. You guys kicked our ass from start to finish. Could not run, could not pass. Could not stop you on any third downs, even third and +10s. Just not a good game for me watch. Amazing we kept it as close as we did for the first 2 and a half quarters. I'm just surprised on how poorly Markel has played the past 3 weeks, especially after how he started the season. He can't complete medium or long passes anymore. And short passes only go for 3-4 yards a pop with no yac yardage.
Onto next week. Maybe things will change at home.
tough game against Cleveland, though.
Just a footnote of this game: for the previous two seasons, we have not lost a game by more than 7 points. This season in our two losses we've lost by 14 and 27. Not a good sign of us repeating as champions.
And what with running the ball? I thought it's supposed to be easier? Wow! We can't do anything on the ground this season.

Okay so we switched up our gameplan and the offense STILL sucks. We are throwing away opportunities that our defense is giving us with regularity. Hell, we started one possession that the MTL 37 yard line and got nothing...2013 AC East Champions

Our young qb hit a dryspell in the third and it cost us...I gameplanned to stop your run game, and only slowed it down. That seventy five yard break out run hurt, but we were still up.Originally posted by BuddaKINGII View Postgg hoosier...weird game. You had us against the wall the whole game but we managed to squeak out with the victory. We have a bye-week so hopefully we can check out the game-plan and tweak some things. We are a couple of changes from really breaking out...
Settling for field goals killed us.

Kozure ... thanks for the congrats. I should be more humble but cannot hold back the elation :thewave: after this win. As you know, its been a long draught for a Viper win as the Beasts have bested the Vipers in the last five games.
Damn, we came out smoking on all cylinders and hope we have something left in the tank for when we meet in the last game of the season. But for now, I will relish this one for just a while longer.

WOW!!! 18 yards from taking Tulsa to overtime. Who the heck is Jerry Patterson? (Anchorage take note). Coach benches Bryan McNeil after 1 quarter and inserts the newly acquired journeyman QB and he leads the Wolfpack down the field and almost pulls off the comeback.
Interesting to note that I couldn't stop Tulsa in the 2nd quarter...Had them 3rd and long on more than one occasion and you guessed it ...they got just enough yards for the next first down. Then our defense totally shut them down...just ran out of time.
GG Tarc...I'm sure your breathed a sigh of relief and got on the plane quick to get out of Reno.
Now...my new personnel comes in and maybe we can still win the division. : )MIAMI VICE - 2074

We did what we wanted to do with Jamison but our pass defense just totally blows. I don't know what to do with it except get some more talented players.
Were sitting at 2-3 but damn our schedule has been tough out of the gates, PENN, MURF, LAW, TEX, and NWK. We have 5-1 Lansing up next so it doesnt get any easier. After playing Lansing we will probably have the toughest SOS in the league.2003,2004,2007,2008,2010,2013,2024,2025,2031,2037, 2038 and 2039 NC North Division Champions, 2012 and 2017 Wild Card

That makes me sick were expecting the run with such little time left in the game. Its obvious your gonna be passing to get into FG range. WTFOriginally posted by Matt View PostThis game scared the shit out of me. I thought Jamison would have one of those high carry / low yard games. I thought I'd find myself in 3rd and short, and we'd be able to manage the clock. This worked in the first half.
The entire 3rd qtr seemed like a field position battle....with Madison winning those mini battles. Come 4th qtr, I was starting to lose faith. The Demons scored to tie it up at 24.
4Q: 01:05 MAD - Brenden Fields 1 pass from Will Irby (Freddie Charlton extra point)
Then the craziest thing I've ever had happen, happened.
Newark: I formation with two tight ends, strength is right. The defense is in a 34 and 1-deep, man-to-man coverage, expecting the run.
1-10-NWK28 (4Q: 00:50) Dwight Burger pass fell incomplete, intended for TE O.J. Peltier. DE Trevor Lindsay hurried the quarterback into a bad throw.Newark: Weak formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the run.
2-10-NWK28 (4Q: 00:44) Dwight Burger pass completed to WR Jose Hoover for 16 yards. Tackled by CB Lenny Wicker. Hoover gained 3 yards after the catch.Newark: Strong formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 34 and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, keying aggressively on the run. Cortez is blitzing.
1-10-NWK44 (4Q: 00:27) Dwight Burger pass completed to WR Jamie Williams for 56 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Williams gained 50 yards after the catch. Newark 30, Madison 24(4Q: 00:27) Extra point by Butch Schulz was good. Newark 31, Madison 24
