Okay - I see the K-whales aren't getting any respect inside the division. Well, hopefully this week we'll change all that. We'll take some inspiration from BYU. We have a secret weapon...gall. LOL, sorry bro! My team can't seem to score points. Doesn't help to have 3 starters injured for game one. Starting WR, starting DE and starting TE. All injured in the pre-season.

Bunch of good games this week, WV and Portland had to come back to win.

Congrats Reno. Week 1 is always rough for me. Not sure why. In 6 years I have only won once on opening week so this week is no suprise. A few tweaks here and there and getting Ricky Doyle back for game 2 I expect a huge turnaround next week.

I rightfully got spanked, but I have two notes:


#1 Seriously, how in a million years do you stop the short pass? I saw that he was 90 percent short pass, prepared with everything I had read and seen about STOPPING the short pass, yet I was short passed to death. Is there seriously some big secret I'm missing out on, or is it THAT powerful a tool in this game?

#2 5 minutes left in the game, down by 12, 3rd and short, at least a TIIIINY shot at getting back in the game.

And I kick a field goal.

I lost soundly, but these things frustrate me INFINITELY more than losing.

My defense led by Olson, Sato, and IT Hertz is much improved finally back to the standards of the olden days...hopefully that is. We'll see when we face the big offenses...

Tulsa has a defense. We shut down and shut out the Trojans. Yes we dominated the NC champ 31-0. Wow. They got close to scoring late in the game, but a sack forces them to punt.
Im extremely happy with this start.

Sometimes you just pull games out of your ass, and this was us in a nutshell today. We turn the ball over on our first two drives (boy does this sound like three seasons ago), but we were able to slowly claw our way back and win 24-20. Defense played amazingly well, especially as the game went on. Gave Markel a chance to bring us back.

Good game Norfolk. I figured the game would be like this. You don't disappoint.
