I don't like being favored by 11 though, puts a little pressure on my rookie QB. I'm just wondering who Suicane blew to get his PR up to 2.

Still havn't decided on my QB situation yet. And yeah, it is always fun to start the season out against a rival and since you're the longest division owner you sort of have a special place in my heart when it comes to wanting to WHOOP YOUR ASS!

The power rankings are stupid to began with. Seriously. I'm not gonna sneak up on anyone this year, but really...100? That's ludicrous! Oakland is no where near the best team in the league. I'm pushing for 8-9 wins as a great year. We have holes all over this team, I put ZERO weight in the games PR anyway, no matter where it tells me I am.

We have a L O N G way to go to start competing with the big boys in this league. It's not great teams that win games, it's great owners. Oakland it improving, but not there yet.

Power rankings for the first week are 100% the same as the roster score in the franchise value screen. They do NOT take into account the incompetence of the team's GM. Thought I'd point that out.

If it settles you down, the F-Birds were ranked through the roof last year in week 1 ;-)

Okay - I see the K-whales aren't getting any respect inside the division. Well, hopefully this week we'll change all that. We'll take some inspiration from BYU. We have a secret weapon...gall. Well that and performance enhancing drugs. And don't forget about our legions of loyal fans - several of which are still allowed to vote.

Kozure ... nothing like starting out against the Champs and a rival division mate.

Hondo Ackerman gets the start in this game. There are too many new Viper faces that I decided to pitch all Viper offensive game plans that were grounded with Lozier at QB. They just were not applicable to where I see the new team developing. Actually it was a blast to restart a new way of thinking and I got so much into it that I proceeded with a complete overhaul in the gameplanning department to include the D as well. So the new Vipers will unveil tomorrow against the Champs.

But alas, I am not disillusioned or drunk enough to expect any earth shattering results even with all that time spent. The good is that the Vipers now have a "bones" for their new era. That "bones" will be tweaked for a full season. Right now, we are much too young for any immediate impact.

The first game is always a crap shoot unless a team has the brick wall built that withstands any nonsense that the game gives you. You have those bricks nicely in place to do this and to repeat as Champs as well. So, this week, all I did was try to find where there might be some new wet mortor where I can break some of those brick loose and find an opportune opening or two. Looking forward to tomorrow even if it is a blow out. See ya on the field.
