Eh, I didn't think of Preseason Week 1 and 2 together. I believe it used to be a possibility that teams that played in Week 1 could play in Week 2 as well. Could obviously play both weeks since that's not the case and maybe add in an extra break as we'd probably like to start Week 1 on the 30th anyways.

I don't care about the speed and will be ready either way. I just feel for the GM who thinks he has a break from the IFL until Friday because the schedule's told him that for a month but comes back to see his regular season depth chart was used in a pre-season game and one of his better players is now injured when he wanted to sit that guy during preseason.

There's 4 breaks in the proposed new schedule so why not just fill those in and keep pre-season 2 on Friday and get the same result?

I've always been in favor of cruising through the painful pre-season games, so i'd be more in favor of Jeff's schedule while also combining week 1 and 2 assuming there are no back to back games there.

That being said, in a casual league, I wouldn't go changing the schedule last minute, however a quicker pre-season could be something to look at for next off-season. Even the NFL hates the pre-season which is why there are talks of cutting that down by 2 games (and weeks).

I think a good compromise would be to not combine the preseason games, but just rifle them and the midweeks one day after another with no days in between, getting them all done within a week. Maybe even skipping a midweek or two.

my thought is to just compress the schedule starting next week, to allow for an AUG 30 kickoff.

that would be my preference, however if people are not ok with that......i will grudgingly compromise myself

Well we might as well throw up a poll or we won't get the full info in time anyway I'd think.

                            I say:

                            a) Speed it up.

                            b) Leave it alone.

                            c) I'll go with the flow.

                            d) other. explain in thread.

I'd start the thread myself but I'm not gonna take that liberty since Sui's stated his desire to leave it be. I just throw this out there for you commish's to decide on whether or not to go with it.

If we really want to do this, then here is my suggestion (stolen from GEFL).

                              Monday-- Preseason games 1,2,3
                              Tuesday-- Midweek
                              Wednesday-- Preseason games 4,5
                              Thursday-- Midweek

                              Turn off injuries.

                              Lets just eliminate preseason.

I think injuries should be kept on. Not having days off in between games and FADAYs would speed it up nicely.
