Don't go that far yet Jave. I am hanging on for something new as well, but next season for us is in the summer or so. If you quit then and something came out in September/October then it would have been a little premature eh? Hang on until the fall and lighten up about things a little. Take the game for what it is right now. If nothing happens come mid-fall then you have my blessing to damn Solecismic.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

      Cring said it best.

This game has it's flaws, and part of me almost thinks 2k4 was a better MP game than 2k7 because it seemed when we pressed a button it atleast did what we hoped. I hope you find a way to stick things out Jave. I think you'll see that it will come back around for you.

Kobeck ... a great first half, then it started to unravel a bit for you. Anyway, it is good to have you in the AC East ... and the Vipers are pleased to give you a housewarming present to start things off right.

Can't complain about anything today. Defense was good all day long. GG Dakota George!

LB Lester Butler was superb today. He got 2 sacks on back to back plays and also had one of Franklin's 3 INT's. My 7th round pick got a TD today and my 4th round pick got his 1st INT too. Draft class already paying off.

            Now were off to Hartford.

Wow...we won! Really some fluke plays. 1 INT return for a TD and 1 fumble return for a TD. Darnell Castillo though is the real deal, 125 yards and was able to put the game away. Unreal the way Christman played at corner. He was clutch in defending the pass, who'da thunk it with his poor ratings. Costello ran the offense well, but two penalties in the red zone left us with FG's instead of TD's. Also stopped Vancouver twice in the red zone only to be penalized and have them go in for the score. Ugh...still have some things to work on.

I'm not trying to be dramatic....not at all. I am not upset to lose to SLC, they are the better team. That doesn't bother me. It's the way I lost. I KNEW he was going to toss the ball all game long and I gameplanned specifically to stop just that. And he did it anyway. Today, last year, the year before...

And it's not just SLC. It's every team who is set up with a QB-rec-rec...They can't just pass at will and no matter what you do, no matter how good your players are, no matter how good your d-backs are...the other team will do whatever they want through the air.

That's exactly why I traded Boyd. Because last season, having TWO 85+ rated cornerbacks didn't do dick to help stop the passing game. Nearly every week the opposing teams QB passed for 300yds 3 scores a game. No matter what. (Between Cring and Vito I gave up 10TD's in 2 games)...

I am just frustrated as hell. If Jim doesn't patch in the near future there's no point in continuing. If I could set my team up to pass I would just fall in line and join the crowd, and I tried that, however my team, actually unintentionally, is set up to run the ball. So I traded Boyd, drafted Wilson and am doing the best I can with what I have. It would take me 3 seasons to do a complete switch to a passing offense. In IFL time, that's over a year. I have already been losing for 3 years straight trying to rebuild. If I am forced to rebuild into a passing team simply to compete, it's just not worth it.

Again, it's not the loss that's the issue. I expected to lose to SLC, it's the game's programming that allows passing teams to tear up and down the field at will that's not right.

The first TO when Hernandez fumbled the pass on the way to the EZ was huge. Would have put Hartford up 13-3 early. Oh well at least the other RB Schultz matched that with another redzone fumble after a 17 yard run. UGLY

10 points allowed at the end of the half and a disasterous 4th made the final way worse than the game played out. Vera asked too much of Johnston and the Hartford running game was nullified. Definatly gotta see wtf happened there. Norfolks OL dominated and was the difference in the game. 15 of 28 on KRB - just dominate.

Even with all that it was 23-21 Vipers heading into the 4th, but it was 24-0 Norfolk in the 4th.

Great Game Rook, hopefully I will have some of this sorted out next time so not gonna just yet - lol

GG Beeznik, Pretty even game up until the end of the 3rd Q. Truth be told I adjusted to run the ball and it killed my passing game. Texas has never run the ball much so the past few games I've run the "smashmouth" offense and I did get a running game going. Now, if I can only get the passing game to work at the same time. Your rookie QB was impressive. He's going to be a good one. Good luck this year.

so you want to cry cuz depite knowing that it only takes a great QB and WR combo to win you went and drafted a stud RB, and now you wonder why you still lose? this is what all your rebuilding was for? to become a team that runs in a league where passing = success? you had one of the top 3 QBs in the league in his prime and you traded him and you're no better off for it, meanwhile Lansing is using your QB and goes to the playoffs. sometimes, most of the time, its the game. the rest of it is you. all you need is a passing attack, nevermind defense. you need to be able to score to keep up with teams cuz your defense will be nonexistent. look at the 2013 Heroes. we gave up a ton of points but we had a top 10 offense. we were the Broncos of the IFL.

this game is crap and not worth the investment in time i put into it. at least i have an exciting player to follow though. the only thing keeping me here.

Sloppy, defensive game not what I expected at all. But a win is a win..and i have to like what I saw from the defense.

Not entirely true.. when I won in 2010 I had a great QB, true, but sucky receivers. I had two things going for me, a hot running back in Crawford, but a great pass defense. I had Hernandez, the top passrusher in the league that year, and I had Alonzo Lake and Bryant Gattis covering the secondary.

Sure, I barely squeezed into the playoffs, mostly due to having an average offense, but I'd venture to say that it was indeed defense that won me that championship.

i don't think it was well known about the glaring problems on defending passing offenses back then. i think you'll find teams are passing somewhat more today than they were 4-5 seasons ago. there is no "defense first" team that wins championships in FOF, like a IFL team like the Baltimore Ravens just isn't possible. quite frankly there was no need for Oakland to take Wilson. sure, it's nice having a stud RB, but it was overkill and i wouldn't want to have an RB like that cuz it's a waste. Jave has done the opposite of what we're all doing. he trades a QB stud in his prime to replace him with a rookie QB who will never be as good ratings-wise as Hamilton was. he takes a stud RB when every other team is falling over themselves to get a stud QB. he trades his stud CB and then complains when he can't stop people on offense, just cuz "he gameplanned to stop the passing attack". good job.

and Schwartz failed in week 1 cuz he was still rusty. those are the dice when you try not to play him too much in preseason so you don't have unnecessary injuries. AI should've played him more in preseason though, it went to the backup too much.

And where is this data? What team has even come close to the level that the Ravens were above their peers and had a powerful running game and capable QB?
