Jave have you read Yoda's stuff on defense over at the FOF forums? Very enlightening. I will be trying it out some of his concepts. Of course once they dont work I will be as frustrated as you again.

Be careful what you use. Some of it is wrong. It needs to be taken with a grain of salt.Originally posted by Pirates View PostJave have you read Yoda's stuff on defense over at the FOF forums? You're going to say that Cincinnati wasn't difficult to stop when everyone was healthy? The Bengals have a lot of different variables that could be pointed to as to why they have struggled. Also, I'd be careful about calling those players 'great'.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Posthi, we're the Cincy Bengals! YAY!

Well the biggest issue with this is, you're comparing great players from the NFL to good players of the IFL. Yes, it is very hard to stop a Brady to Moss / Welker, or Manning to Harrison / Wayne, but Brady and Manning would easily be rated 80+ in the IFL.Originally posted by Beeznik View PostI challenge anyone to name an NFL team that had/has a great QB and 2 great WRs that isn't difficult to stop.
Pass defense in this game makes it so guys like Chad Harding and Ruben Sante can put up 110+ ratings, which is about as high as Brady during his TD record breaking season.Steve Beans - Houston Renegades

yeah, QB proficiency in this league/game is so out of whack that i almost traded the 1.1 pick (and thus traded the right to draft Schwartz) cuz i felt it would've been overkill. i mean if Sante can toss 30+ td and only 8 ints then how much better could the future top-rated QB do? you basically just need a 60 something rated QB minimum and you'll be fine.

Well, there are also QBs in this league and others with higher ratings but never seem to live up to the ratings. Part of the problem might be looking at someones ratings and saying "He should be doing this good", much like looking at someones ratings and saying "He shouldn't be doing this good". I look at ratings as talent level, some live up to it, some don't.Originally posted by SteveBsFan View PostWell the biggest issue with this is, you're comparing great players from the NFL to good players of the IFL. Granted, I do agree that QB ratings are too high.Last edited by Beeznik; 04-07-2009, 02:14 PM.

You're QB could end up in the 90s, but could never live up to the ratings (Jeff George).Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postyeah, QB proficiency in this league/game is so out of whack that i almost traded the 1.1 pick (and thus traded the right to draft Schwartz) cuz i felt it would've been overkill. i mean if Sante can toss 30+ td and only 8 ints then how much better could the future top-rated QB do? you basically just need a 60 something rated QB minimum and you'll be fine.
Sante could be a player with not the greatest talent but really good intangibles (Rich Gannon). Face it, great QBs haven't always had the best talent. And the great talents haven't always been great QBs. Just because Sante does well doesn't mean you'll have an easy time finding a similar QB. I find that pretty realistic.

I agree on that. I have always looked at the production then the bars. Like our 7th round pick at Guard Ben Ross. He is not starting now but in his heyday he always seemed to get 20+ krb's with very few sacks allowed. It didnt matter what his bars looked like, they werent great and he probably would never have started based upon those, but he produced.Originally posted by Beeznik View PostYou're QB could end up in the 90s, but could never live up to the ratings (Jeff George).

Agreed. I see it quite a bit. But even so, it takes a lot for me to look away from the bars and bench someone because someone with worse bars gets better production.Originally posted by Pirates View PostI agree on that. That's the problem with this game. There isn't stuff like, evaluating players in practice. And the game isn't very fluid. A team would be able to tell, eventually, that a backup is better than a starter. But the only way we really really know that in FOF is if the starter gets injured and the backup gets some serious playing time. And even then it's sometimes hard to bench that player with the great bars.

Too many turnovers and probably too many rushing attempts. I'll wait awhile before I open things up. I want to give the young secondary as much help as possible. Not totally convinced this can't work here, but it ain't lookin good. Man, it sucks losing in division at home week 1.

Not good enough, we lost. Hey I love the Packers. I dont like Rodgers though. He checks down to often and is way to fragile.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostSo yeah... GG Kurt.
