No man, I wanna do what I feel like the league in general wants, and it's clear the more vocal people want it opened early, but I just want everyone to remember that if some dude is going fishing with his kid on Saturday and doesnt make an untimed pick, well that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Mmmm, cookies.

Someone every year is going to bitch and moan....usually me. Being unemployed I check the draft about 87 times an hour so when someone uses the entire 5 hours it seems like 20 to me cause I hit refresh about 493 times.

Me.. the draft is my absolute favorite part of the year and I pay obscene amounts of attention to it.. Just because it's my favorite time doesn't mean I want to move slow though. It's the ecstasy involved with seeing who you got that I'm after..

The quicker the better.. even if I have to wake up at 3:30 a.m. on a weekday I will be there to make my pick.

This works. With 5 hour windows its not like there is much movemenrtin the 1st round anyway. But now the weekend is open to start the movement.

let's just have it start on Monday. i don't want to be a prick but i'm not going to have an artificial deadline dictate how quickly i move to trade 1.1 - if i decide to do it at all. i may decide after giving it some thought its best i draft my QB. things happen for a reason and i think the reason why the 3-way was put on hold was for me to reexamine whether i should trade that pick. not like i'm against going to the playoffs evey year with the future best QB in the league.

again, it's not to be spiteful or to be a prick. but the more time i have, the more people start to talk themselves into trying to go for the first overall pick. if people have all weekend to mull it over they may get desperate and just give me what i want. if i have the 1.1 i'm picking a QB. Jave already made it clear he's not going to trade 1.2, and is considering moving 1.3.; unfortunately there's only 2 franchise QBs in this draft so if you can't get 1.2 and someone makes a trade for 1.3 that doesn't leave you with many options to get one of the two stud QBs. if you get 1.1 then you don't have to worry about what Jave does, that's certainly why i aquired the pick.

The first round is immensely important, and I have the fifth overall... if the start is Monday, I'm really hoping we start early because of my time difference issue. If we are going to start Friday, I won't have any problems staying up late late late to be there for my picks.

And we could solve the 1.1 issue right away HA.. fifth for first and I guarantee I won't pick a QB.

I vote for leaving it open early if we promise not to bitch. Much easier to work some early trades in the top 15 that way. from a selfish standpoint, if my pick 1.04 comes up at 11 am on a Monday, there is absolutely no chance of trade, barter, etc. Id rather shoot for early and everyone just relax if things go slow till Monday

Yea, sounds great but if whoever owns the 1.1 isn't picking until Monday then the poll is really a moot point.

This is nuts. Being held hostage by someone whom if he had the 2nd pick overall would be the first one clamoring all over these boards that we need to start the draft early. Unbelievable. Jesus, I'd rather wait till next weekend if people are going to hold this hostage.

Well, at the same time Sui, you have 75% of the league ready to start the draft Friday night, and whomever owns the first pick says, "yea well tough shit, everyone can wait the 3 days for me to decide what I want to do", I can see his point.
