My role in the IFL is going to change dramatically as we switch to 2012. Within the past few weeks or so I came to the conclusion that the league as a whole would be better served if I took more of a backseat role in it. Effective immediately Suicane and Matt will be the head honchos. In addition, a new owner will be taking over the Portland Seals.

This isn't much cause for concern - the league will push on. A league is only as strong as its owners and we have some great guys around here. Suicane has ran sims before and Matt, who has been a member of my little IFL cabinet for quite awhile now, is extremely dedicated to this league. Plus, I will be watching from the sidelines to ensure there are no setbacks - I'll be helping with little things here and there.

I won't go into all the details of my decision, but they pretty much revolve around the fact that I'm just not finding this to be very fun anymore. Since I took over the league 19 months ago my life has become a *lot* busier. Since last fall I've been a full-time student and a full-time worker. Besides that, I don't think I'm a good fit as leader of this league anymore (or any league for that matter). I don't feel we have as much in common anymore as we once did. I just think that it's time for me to spread my wings and cut the ball and chain. That might sound a little harsh, but if you've ran a league before you can probably relate.

I want to thank everyone who has made this league what it is. Just remember that this isn't a complete farewell. Without any doubt I can say that I will be contributing until my contributions are no longer needed.

PS - I'm sorry about the timing. I take no pleasure in making this post just minutes after simming the championship game. The reality is that we push forward fast and these changes need to be put into motion before this next season really gets underway.

I compliment you on the job you did while in "office".

Too bad you have to leave the Seals as well but I'm sure you've thought it through.

I was sorry to see you go last time you did, and I'm sorry to see you leave now. I really appreciate what you've done for the league, both as a competitor and as a commissioner. I'm happy to see that you're not disappearing completely. The league, despite all the great people, will obviously be less fun without you around. All leagues benefit from long time commitments from its' GMs, and seeing an original GM leave is never fun .

So.. please don't be a stranger.. or I might have to cyberstalk you!

That sucks, you did the job really well as commish. I'm sure Matt and that gay man will do well, but sorry to see you go.

Echoing the sentiments and the kudos for a job well done, big time.

Jeff, you could be counted on to start the games on Sunday on schedule close to 99% of the time. And I think the dedicated Sundays at 10:00 has made this league what it is today. There hasn't been a more dedicated commish to do things right than you. Good luck on your futures and hope to see you back here again someday.

and a postscipt to Suicane and Matt ...

You got some big shoes to fill, but I ,for one, have no doubts that both of you will pick up the "third era" of the league in style.

                    Thanks again to:

Excellent work as this is a great league to be a part of. Good luck to Suicane and Matt and let's have an awesome season as we push forward.

I'll miss our divisional games big time Jeff. They've been a blast since I first started playing FOF.

Hate to see you leave as commish Jeff. I have to say you did a great job here in the IFL. Hopefully, down the road you will come back and at least run a team. The league just won't be the same without you. I understand your decision though as things in life just get to be a bit much and there seems like there isn't enough hours in the day.

Good luck with school and pop in every now and then.

I think choosing Matt is a excellent choice to help Suicane out. Matt loves this league and it will be in good hands.
