Nice win againt Vancouver. Stayin' alive in Little Rock.

Andrew Kinney never got a sack but still tore up the Whales o-line. He had 7 hurries and 7 QB knockdowns. That is a pretty nice game.

Nice to see Brian Dixon get a 100 yard rushing game and be over 4.0 ypc in a game as well.

i wouldn't go so far as to say Jim's a fraud - fraud's don't last for a decade. but i will say i think there's more wrong with the game than is being let on. i just don't have any handle on this game. c'mon - the highest rated kicker in the league rated perfect in both accuracy and power can't even connect on 70percent of his FG attempts??? does that even sound like something that can be explained away? there is no logic behind that. my guy Shumaker has more sacks this season than Joe Otey (rated 20+ pts more than Shumaker) has this and last season combined???

Montreal is decent this year, by far more competitive than they've ever been, but they just aren't good enough to almost beat the Heroes. just so frustrating. we almost lost that game. this is the most angered i've been after a win than in my whole history of MP.

no. you had no business being that close. it's almost like FOF wants game to be close. someone should do a study as to what the average margin of victory is in IFL (or FOF in general) compared to the NFL. i think you'd find there are more blowouts in the NFL than in IFL/FOF.

what i'm also finding is the short pass is king in this game. Montreal was passing short all game, that's why RB Osbourne has so many catches. that's why teams like Portland and St. Louis are so successful - short passing. you can tell who passes short by going to Team Summary - if the TE and FB are #3 and #4 in receptions then those team are passing short. for some reason you can simply keep moving the chains just by mixing in short passing and the run. Norfolk is another team that heavily utilizes the short pass. i think that's why you're getting all this "offense in FOF2k7 is more porten than defense" rhetoric. i think that's a major problem in this game, defenses are weak against short passing.

My last 3 losses, all to winning teams, were by 4 points or less. There's more to a team than blatant first-glance stats. There's game planning, chemistry, etc.

Just because your team is not doing as well as you THINK it should be, doesn't mean the game is broken. I could bitch and say 'if this game wasn't fucked up, i'd have won my last 4 games straight and should have wiped the floor with the Heroes.'

                    Such a fine line...

                    btw -
You'll also notice I had more combined Medium and Long passes than short passes. I have my RBs and TEs out in multiple sets as the 3rd, 4th or 5th WR.

We got destroyed on special teams today.

Glad to have our first round pick, Antoine Fulton, back on the field.

I'm getting tired of having top 10 picks every year. Sooner or later we need to get results on the mother &*@# field!!!!

I always love the logic about ratings. Vanderjagt was the top rated kicker in the league and then.......something just stunk up the joint. Kurt Warner was a one or two year wonder, Moss went from tearing it up in Minnesota to....whatever...and then rebound with New England.

If football were just about assembling the highest "rated" guys then we could pencil all this out on paper. And to "know" exactly what all the ratings stand for and such, wouldn't really be realistic as well.

So...ride the hot hands even though their ratings are low. Ryan McCellion was a 5th round pick and I kept him around even though his ratings started in the low 40's. (potential)...now he's in the high 50's and I'm actually getting trade offers for him. Go figure,

there needs to be some type of correlation between the ratings that tell us how good the player is and how good the player actually is, or else it's just a waste of time and extremely useless. if i had a 10/32 rated kicker, i'm going to expect him to connect on 60 something percent of his attempts, not a 100/100 kicker. how stupid would this game be if a 10/32 rated kicker hit on 90 percent of his attemps?
