This is gonna be a crazy auction. Kinda worried because i know Dakota and Lansing has a ton of cap room and the Spirit desperately need a QB. Don't want Colella in the NC or especially the NC North so i hope he signs with a AC team.

You don't have a problem with the backloading then? When is it acceptable and when is it not acceptable?Originally posted by BuddaKINGII View PostPersonally, I think HA should be able to keep Collela. He offered the contract so he should be held responsible for his blunder. His blunder- offering 6 mil a yr in bonus. Yawn!! I just dumped 6 mil a year in bonus to Bice because he refused to resign for a reasonable amount. 6 mil a year is nothing. The cap this year is 107 million. What is 6 million?Originally posted by BuddaKINGII View PostPersonally, I think HA should be able to keep Collela. He offered the contract so he should be held responsible for his blunder. exactly why i decided to have his contract voidedOriginally posted by BuddaKINGII View PostPersonally, I think HA should be able to keep Collela. AAAAAAND...he may ask for less as a free agent than he would to resign, as Bice did. odds are he'll sign with someone else, but the odds are greater that this team would be sunk if he got seriously hurt halfway through the deal with all that bonus.

quit bitching...this notice is appropriate...guys enter FA at the start not the middle...only 2nd tier shitbags enter after the fact...its only fair to announce an premier addition to the pool for those guys that stopped sending bids on the no talent pool...frankly you have an advantage because there are several guys that spent their FA money already and wont be able to outbid you...
if i were king (and thankfully im not) you wouldnt even have the opportunity to bid on the guy...you put your hand in the cookie jar, got it stuck, had it forcibly removed, and now want to have someone hold the jar open while you put your hand back in...
now spend some more time on a counter analogy since you are better at that than the rest of us...if you spent as much time managing your team and its cap as you did complaining about this or bragging about your trades you would already be the league champion...quit hating on Jeff...(NOTE HE CAN BE A PRICK SOMETIMES BUT HE IS IN MY VIEW A FAIR PRICK)
and for the record i am well aware that there are teams with caps that make them subject to pillaging...but sometimes other caps or other plans prevent those trades...and for that matter signing old veteran talent or trading for it in FOF07 may not be the best way to manage a team...you go your way and win the title and then we can all salute your strategy...GM Wichita Outlaws

WOW HA sure is lucky. Should NOT be allowed to be involved in the FA bidding for Colellas services IMHO. Was the original drafter of JJ Johnson allowed to bid? I can't remember. Anyways it would be unfair for HA to benefit from his rules viloation. If allowed to bid he sould have to AT LEAST bid what Colella was offered - without the backload.sigpic

excellent idea. you should put that in the suggestion box for next year, unless you want to completely disregard the Constitution and start making up rules as you go along. :jerkit:Originally posted by Kobeck View PostWOW HA sure is lucky. No...I was unable to bid for JJ....The voiding of a contract, made him unwilling to sign with Dakota...
I remember how mad I was then...and when I did the stupid signing of a really dumb coach...and there were no "nice measures" helping me out--just chalked it up to learning experience.
I even used the same logic as HA...---the computer allowed me to do it...so I thought it must be OK... : ) -- I think Jeff said something like..."next time if your not sure..PM me."MIAMI VICE - 2074

the fact of the matter is the deal was severly backloaded. it can't even be argued that it wasn't backloaded. thus, the game shouldn't have even allowed it to be considered. apparently you only get the backloaded prompt *only* when bidding on FA's. lesson learned by all, but it's more a result of the game's limitations than anything to do with me. i didn't even triple the salary from one year to the next - the last year's salary was 10x the previous year's. i submitted it on a whim. for the most part i was planning on waiting the entire year to see how Collela performed to see if he deserved to be paid like a top 3 QB, despite what his bars show he's only been performing at a 80-82 QB rating level during his time with the Heroes (ie, only the past 2 seasons). career-wise he's not a top 3 QB. i'm not gonna pay him oodles of money just cuz he's fortunate to have such a savvy/aggressive GM who surrounds him with great talent. i wouldn't be surprised (worst case scenario) if Ike Jordan put up a similar QB rating. Jordan certainly has better accuracy/avoid INT ratings.

you violated the IFL rules with every intent of gaining an unfair advantage on the other 31 owners. Heroes should not be allowed any advantages from breaking the rules, or are you too "savy" to understand that?Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Postthe fact of the matter is the deal was severly backloaded. it can't even be argued that it wasn't backloaded. thus, ...
sidebar:
BTW if you have any trade purposals in the future why don't you make them actual trade purposals instead blanket availability questions. You will know when the Mules are trying to trade a player by reading about it in the Trade forum. Now if you actually made an unsolicited trade purposal then that is different and welcomed, but you never do you just ask if "insert VG-Excellent player name here" is available.sigpic
