question - if i'm able to resign Collela will my cohesion remain intact, or does it start over again? is it counted as resigning Collela or does the game consider it to be signing a free agent?

it would show him as being on your roster for the continuous time, no negative effect.

this may be moot. certain QB's on the trading block present a very interesting Plan B. very interesting indeed.

                how was this contract possible?

does this not violate the same rule i broke?

CAP Out is certainly an ace in the hole for dealing with the CAP. I use it, but sparringly. Definatly only delays the pain, but sometimes that is enough.

The rule, which isn't even a hard one at this point, would not affect the transition of the 1st to 2nd years of contracts. In renegotiations it's common for the 1st year salary to be very close to the league minimum.

I only use cap out about 6 or 7 times a year. I'm very cap conscious.

The game won't let me cap out unless the player has a minimum of three years of exisiting salary, so two year negotiations have to be manually inputted if not accepting the player's demand.

Given all the discussion on Colella, it seems a little questionable to use the negotiation approach (as exhibited for Olin above) on two year contract negotiations. My only editorial comment is that as much as I hate league rules that generate a police-like atmosphere, there seems to be a need to clarify what is acceptable for short and long term deals.

Yeah, cap out will work on any guy with more than one year on their contract.

Edit: Hmmm.. check that. Isn't applying to everyone, but I can definitely cap out Caro right now.

                                Help file says this:

The Cap Out button is available only for players on your team who have two or more years remaining on their contract.
