TRIVIA BYTES THURSDAY PREVIEW ... Intra division play ... the time of year that coaches throw out the W-L records and where many rivalries have been fueled with the home and away matchups each and every season.

#4 PORTLAND vs. #6 ANCHORAGE. Clearly, the blockbuster for the Thursday night dance card. The Seals won the earlier game this season on the last play of the game with a 34 yard field goal. There were 942 total yards gained and 95 passes thrown in that game as Leslie Steiner and Jay Caro lit up the sky. Everything suggests that these two high octane machines will just pick up where they left off in Week 11. And there isn't any new added pressure with a division championship & possible first round bye on the line . Portland is a little more banged up than Anchorage. The most intersting injury to monitor is the Seal's punting game. All-pro punter Gaston Cottrell is listed as questionable with a sprained knee (legs aren't an impotant body part for punters, are they). If the Lynx defense shows up, this could be a deciding factor on the outcome. Don't miss this one ... it will be outstanding.

:behindsofa: #12 IOWA CITY vs. # 10 CLEVELAND ... The preliminary to the above heavy weight bout aint no trick. The Clawz won the first meeting but only after the Snipe Hunters missed a field goal with 21 seconds left in the game. This isn't just a two-way frolop on the bed because WICHITA has been peaking from behind the sofa and is much too anxious to join in for a three-way. Division up for grabs, wild card berths also up for grabs. WICHITA better not look past MONTREAL though.

Other action of note with playoff consequence:

    AC SOUTH
#15 MURFREESBORO at #13 ST. LOUIS ... wild card aspirations for both teams
#23 LOUISIANA at #5 HOUSTON ... The Renegades are looking for a bye

NC NORTH , Madison and Lansing participate in preliminary qualification rounds before their finale at the end of the season. Both are pretty stern tests and there is a good chance that one or both may flunk the exam.
    #8 MADISON at #20 DAKOTA
    #25 PITTSBURGH at #9 LANSING

    Honorable mention:
#27 GEORGIA at #10 TEXAS ... Texas trying to mantain its position to grab a wild card
#26 NEWARK at #7 VERMONT ... Vermont trying not to lose its position to grab a wild card
#1 NORFOLK at #16 HARTFORD ... Hartford playing its version of the Imperial Bowl this week
#2 LAWRENCE at #30 ORLANDO ... Orlando owns the current longest losing streak at 6
#21 TULSA at #3 LITTLE ROCK ... Tulsa has played strong the last couple of weeks
#32 WEST VIRGINIA at #19 BOSTON ... this game could really cook
#22 ALBUQUERQUE at #24 CALIFORNIA ... playing for pride

The Unmentionables (where the underdogs could very well be considered the favorites):
#31 SLC at #17 OAKLAND ... no comment
    #18 VANCOUVER at #28 RENO ... ditto

Heh, nice pickup on the injured punter. I don't think his performance will suffer too much. The bigger concern is if he re-injures himself.

I'll be tuning in to the MUR/STL game. If the Mules want to play with the big boys, this is a game they have to win. It's time to find out what you're made of!

I agree. Mules gotta start winning instead of losing close.

6-2 at home is good though, but 1-4 on the road stinks.

records aside its an AC South game so Ethan Vera better have the Mules ready.

Cha-ching rdy to go. Chad Richardson is going to pull an AD and will be running "All- Day" as we ground it out in the frigid cold. 17 degrees bring your insulated suits and lots of coffee.

We've been playing great. Our defense has been pretty good, and I think we're ready to spoil the Mountaineer season.
Is Virgil returning this evening? I think so.

Devon Taylor's worst game this season is against the Toads. We love Devon. He always helps us win.

                        Coder,

I've heard nothing from you this week. quiet as kept. You never answered my question about a certain Virgil. I hope you have your alarm set for a middle of the night Imperial football league game.

Good luck. I hope you lose.

and i wanted to try this. I love the NC East..........not the *** East.......or the N.F.C. east.

Virgil appears to be dressed and is throwing on the field. It looks as though he will start at QB despite not hearing an official word from the Vermont side.
