I just imagine Suicane laughing at me in the chat room. No time for me to chat though, I have to work on my prospect video!

I interviewed him and got "Hard to read". He had absolutely awesome combine-results though.. I think he'll do fine to be honest.Originally posted by JeffHmmm, well that's a pretty decent sample size I guess. Did anyone else happen to interview Fields by chance? My logic on picking him went like this:
1) Great combine
2) Deemed underrated after an interview, which I thought meant that 3) he should be better than his bureau score indicates.
I didn't put much stock into his bars, except for what individual things he might excel at.

How many really disagreed? Maybe in the way they play I guess. I've always thought there was a degree of masking.Originally posted by MrBigglesworthI don't think ratings mean much of anything until after a few seasons, and even then I'm not sure that the masking ever really comes off. I thought it was somewhat like that in 2k4, but I know a lot of people even here in this league disagreed with me. I've done some studies, and I think it is much more pronounced though in 2k7."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

NCAA. I don't know that we'll ever get a new set of IFL rosters unless this thing gstelmack is doing is worthwhile.Originally posted by CoderHave you got IFL rosters in Madden yet? Or are you using NCAA?Originally posted by JeffI just imagine Suicane laughing at me in the chat room. No time for me to chat though, I have to work on my prospect video!
Edit: I'm using Madden '06 with NCAA mods."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

Skydog said recently over in the USFL that he's seen players who's basic ratings don't look good, (like Fields), but had good combine numbers, and was "very underrated" by his scout after an interview, and he saw a 30 rated player become a 50 rated player over the course of several seasons. But that was the most he's ever saw. He did say he has a player that may put that 20 point increase to shame.Originally posted by JeffHmmm, well that's a pretty decent sample size I guess. But Jeff, you can always take solace in the fact that Fields rating can only go up, right?Two-time IFL Champion (2014, 2015)

Yes, FOF2004 was much more straight forward in its ratings. What you saw with a player was what you got. Now, there is heavy masking to players ratings, especially with rookies. Soooo, that could mean that random booms and busts are still present, but the masking doesn't allow them to show up for several seasons down the road. And it only shows increases and decreases in small doses.Originally posted by JeffHow many really disagreed? Maybe in the way they play I guess. There was a thread not too long ago where a couple posters said I was crazy for looking at stats and not caring as much about overall ratings.Originally posted by JeffHow many really disagreed? Jester probably disagreed. I only make fun of tight ends who score a lot of touchdowns ...Originally posted by MrBigglesworthThere was a thread not too long ago where a couple posters said I was crazy for looking at stats and not caring as much about overall ratings.Originally posted by JeffHow many really disagreed? I care about attributes but not a players OVR. Stats are something to take into consideration but they're dependent on a great many things and are unavailable for incoming rookies so I assume the bars reflect something, even if a bad reflection.Originally posted by JeffJester probably disagreed. My trade for Bucky Beaver is an example of past stats and low OVR motivating me to make a move. A move deemed expensive by some.

When I took the Blackhawks to the championship in WAFL, I had the worst ratings of any secondary in the league--yet we probably led the league in INT's and had excellent success against the pass.
I am thinking that overall ratings mean much less in 2007.MIAMI VICE - 2074

Ha! Left here at 4 PM. Went to see Ratatouille which is a 2 hour movie + previews. Very good children's movie. When we got home around 7:30ish, I expected that at least 2 of my picks would have been made. I guess I could make them live now... :shock:MIAMI VICE - 2074
